Holding the Principal of the University of Business and Technology accountable for illegal training

(Dan Tri) - According to the Ministry of Education and Training , regarding the training of a second degree in English Language in some classes, the responsibility belongs to Hanoi University of Business and Technology, first of all the school's principal.

The document of the Ministry of Education and Training stated that the responsibility related to training for the second degree in English Language classes VB2.12, VB2.12 (A, B), VB22.01 of Hanoi University of Business and Technology (HNU) is first and foremost the responsibility of the school's Principal.

Along with that, the Ministry of Education and Training requested Hanoi University of Technology to urgently organize the implementation of a plan to ensure the legitimate rights of related learners in accordance with regulations. The results will be reported to the Ministry of Education and Training before December 28.

"The school is requested to send a legal representative to attend a meeting with the Ministry of Education and Training to review and draw up a record of administrative violations in the recruitment and organization of training for the second degree in English Language on December 26," the document stated.

The "tightening" of the training of the second degree in English Language for the above classes is based on the inspection conclusion No. 2201/KLTT dated June 28, 2024 of Hanoi University of Business and Technology (HNU) on training of the second degree in English Language and the working results of the Working Group verifying information on enrollment and training for people who have a university degree in English Language.

According to previous press reports, in 2021 and 2022, at Hanoi University of Business and Technology, there were nominal English second degree university classes.

The training process involved a number of teachers in the school, but at the end of the course, when receiving the diploma, the students received a notice of conclusion from the Inspectorate of the University of Business and Technology stating that, in the 2020-2021 school year, the school did not organize enrollment for VB2 training in English Language and the Principal did not allow any VB2 class to be placed nor did he sign a training cooperation contract with any unit outside the school.

According to the school's inspection conclusion, the organization of the training for the above 2nd degree classes was organized by Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Ha, Deputy Head of the English B Department of the school, not representing the school.

However, the decisions to recognize admission to the above-mentioned second-degree classes were signed by the Vice Principal in charge of training at Hanoi Technical College. The school explained that "the decision is invalid because the Vice Principal signed it without the Principal's authorization."
