According to the Ministry of Health , recently, the country has discovered 19 major cases related to counterfeit goods, of which 5 cases are directly related to the health sector such as fake drugs, cosmetics, functional foods, and medical equipment. This is a warning bell, requiring more drastic intervention from management agencies and the business community.
At the conference, the Department of Health disseminated and thoroughly grasped the legal regulations and instructions of the Central and the province on the production and trading of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, functional foods, and medical equipment.
Special emphasis is placed on measures to control counterfeit goods and goods of unknown origin, while promoting the responsibility of business establishments in complying with the law and proactively coordinating with authorities.
Speaking at the conference, Director of the Department of Health Le Hong Trung requested that specialized departments under the department, Health Departments of districts and cities increase surprise inspections, closely monitor the activities of pharmaceutical production and trading establishments; absolutely do not let fake and poor quality goods circulate on the market.
At the same time, promote communication work, recommending people not to buy or use products of unknown origin and not ensuring circulation conditions.
Thereby, preventing and strictly handling acts of commercial fraud and counterfeit goods in the medical field, contributing to improving the effectiveness of state management and protecting people's rights.
For pharmaceutical businesses, it is necessary to strictly comply with the regulations: Only transact with qualified business units; do not buy or sell products without invoices or documents; do not advertise falsely about product uses; absolutely do not sell prescription drugs without a valid prescription.
Facilities must proactively coordinate with authorities when detecting signs of violations and regularly inventory goods to promptly detect and handle counterfeit goods, violating goods, and goods that do not ensure quality.
During the peak month, the Department of Health assigned the Department Inspectorate to preside over and coordinate with specialized departments to carry out large-scale inspections and post-inspections, resolutely and strictly handle violations, contributing to ensuring a safe and transparent pharmaceutical and medical equipment market, protecting people's health and stabilizing society.
