Quynh Nhai currently has 686 establishments producing, processing and trading food in operation. Of these, there are 327 establishments producing and trading food; 120 establishments providing food and beverage services, street food, collective kitchens, producing food and drink; 239 establishments producing and trading agricultural, forestry and aquatic products. Most of the establishments are small-scale, mainly serving the needs of local people.
Ms. Luong Thi Duyen, Vice Chairman of Quynh Nhai District People's Committee, informed: Every year, the District People's Committee directs specialized units and departments to develop a plan on food safety management. In particular, focusing on propaganda, guiding people on food use, processing, preventing food poisoning; how to choose food with clear origin; regulations of the law on food safety... The forms of propaganda are diverse, through conferences, launching ceremonies, village meetings, talks, direct propaganda at the grassroots, distributing leaflets, folding books, hanging banners, posters, banners, slogans, propaganda through loudspeakers in two languages, Mandarin and Thai. At the same time, establish interdisciplinary inspection teams to inspect and monitor the food market; strictly handle violations, protect consumer rights.
Implementing the “Month of Action for Food Safety” in 2025, the People's Committee of Quynh Nhai district has established 12 inspection teams to conduct inspections and supervision at 88 food production and trading establishments. The inspection results did not detect any violations, and the establishments strictly implemented regulations on food production and trading to ensure safety. Since the beginning of the year, there have been no cases of food poisoning or violations of food safety in the district.
Mr. Lo Van Hoa, Deputy Director of Quynh Nhai District Medical Center, said: Since the beginning of the year, the unit has inspected, evaluated, appraised and granted certificates of food safety eligibility to 33 establishments. Regularly coordinate with functional agencies to inspect and supervise food safety for small-scale food service businesses, collective kitchens, and street food establishments.
As a food and grocery business in Sub-area 1, Muong Giang town, Mr. Bui Dinh Toan's family is regularly informed and instructed on food safety regulations. Mr. Toan shared: As a long-time business, the family always strictly follows the regulations on selling products with clear origins, ensuring food safety and hygiene, and building trust with customers.
With the above synchronous and drastic solutions, food safety in Quynh Nhai district is basically guaranteed. Along with the participation of functional agencies, people also need to proactively raise awareness in choosing quality products with clear origin, being smart consumers to protect their family's health.
