Journalist Phung Thi My - Director and Editor-in-Chief of the News Publishing House said that the preparation for the book took more than a year. To carry it out, the News Publishing House mobilized the participation of not only the editorial team within the agency, but also researchers, photojournalists, veteran journalists, and collectors across the country.
“The book is a profound tribute to President Ho Chi Minh - the great revolutionary journalist, founder of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism and generations of Vietnamese revolutionary journalists, especially the journalists and martyrs who fell so that the revolutionary journalism could develop brilliantly as it is today; at the same time, this is a belief, pride, encouragement and motivation for young journalists today and tomorrow to firmly walk on the path of accompanying the nation,” said Ms. Phung Thi My.
Present at the event, journalist Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission and President of the Vietnam Journalists Association highly appreciated the documentary value of the book, especially on the occasion of the great anniversary - 100 years of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism.

“By reading the book, we can systematically see the 100-year development of Vietnam’s revolutionary press. The book is compiled in two languages, not only helping Vietnamese people better understand the history of the country’s press but also vividly introducing this proud development journey to international friends,” commented Mr. Le Quoc Minh.
Mr. Minh proposed using the book to prepare for the upcoming National Press Festival and National Press Awards Ceremony. In addition, Nhan Dan newspaper has ordered 200 copies as reference materials.
The launch event was also attended by experts who contributed to the book, including collector Nguyen Phi Dung - who owns about 23 tons of press materials. Notably among his contributions to the book is the page of the newspaper "Liberation Flag" - the Central propaganda agency of the Indochinese Communist Party, issue 1 published on October 10, 1942.

Mr. Dung said he bought the newspaper for 48 million VND from an individual in Bac Ninh. Due to the dangerous conditions of revolutionary activities and the lack of facilities at that time (lithographic printing, handwriting), the newspaper was limited in quantity and very rare, no unit still kept it, so he decided to collect it. Another reason that motivated him was because the pages of Vietnamese revolutionary newspapers before 1954 were highly sought after both at home and abroad.
“I want these newspapers to be preserved for future generations. They will read the newspapers and know how our ancestors lived, fought and protected the country and now are building the country,” he shared.
