In Official Dispatch No. 5101/VPCP-KGVX dated June 10, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh requested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries, agencies and localities to review and evaluate the overall work of displaying, preserving, protecting, ensuring security and safety of national treasures nationwide; promptly guide, inspect and examine the work of preserving, restoring and embellishing relics and heritage sites to ensure effective management, protection and promotion of the value of heritage sites and relics; report to competent authorities on issues beyond their authority before June 30, 2025.

* According to the Law on Cultural Heritage and decisions of the Prime Minister , national treasures are artifacts of special value, representing the spirit, identity and intelligence of the Vietnamese people through historical periods. Therefore, protecting and promoting the value of these treasures is not only the responsibility of the cultural sector but also the common duty of the whole society.

Recently, there have been a number of cases of national treasures being violated. Faced with this situation, the Prime Minister has directed the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to strengthen measures to ensure absolute safety for national treasures. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued an official dispatch to ministries, branches, political organizations, socio-political organizations at the central level, and People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities requesting a review and assessment of the current status of display, preservation, protection, and measures to ensure security and safety for national treasures under its direct management; at the same time, continue to strengthen the protection, preservation, and promotion of the value of national treasures.
