According to GameRant , developer Rockstar Games continues to suffer data leaks related to the Grand Theft Auto series. Internal documents, including designs and development notes for major projects such as GTA Online , were leaked online on Christmas Day.
Accordingly, the leaked documents this time are not only related to GTA Online but also include information about other famous games in the GTA series such as San Andreas, Vice City Stories and GTA Advance . These documents were published on the GTAForums forum by a user named FrankieLiberty. A notable piece of information is that the plan for an online version of Grand Theft Auto was conceived as early as May 2001. The 58-page design document, titled GTA: Online, describes features such as character creation, skill development and mission structure.
The technological limitations of the 2000s were a factor that kept the online version of Grand Theft Auto dormant for quite some time.
Former Rockstar Games employee Obbe Vermeij also confirmed the authenticity of some of the documents. He revealed that a design for a deathmatch mode for "gta3-online" was in the works but could not be completed due to the large workload. Vermeij said that the Barking Dog team (later Rockstar Vancouver) had drafted design documents but the project was canceled.

The leaked documents also reveal some interesting information about older games. For example, GTA: San Andreas was planned to have eight girlfriends, two more than the final version. Other notes related to Vice City Stories' map and mission designs, along with details of the "final product" of GTA Advance, have also surfaced.
The leak comes as fans are eagerly awaiting the second trailer for GTA 6. While Rockstar has yet to make any announcements, players have been speculating and creating theories around the release date of the new trailer.
This incident once again raises questions about Rockstar Games' data security capabilities, especially since this is not the first time the company has encountered a similar problem.
