Ronaldo: 'Playing in 40 degree Celsius weather is not easy'
The interview between Cristiano Ronaldo and Piers Morgan continues to "cause a storm", when part 2 was posted in full yesterday (November 6).
The Portuguese striker asserted that the quality of the Saudi Pro League has been underestimated compared to its potential. "Many people came to Saudi Arabia right after I arrived," Ronaldo asserted.
According to Ronaldo, the West Asian playground is more difficult than Spain and Portugal. Therefore, the value of goals and titles here needs to be calculated on par with European tournaments, so that Ronaldo can compete for the Golden Ball.

"Scoring goals in Saudi Arabia is harder than in Spain. People say the Saudi Pro League is bad, even though they have never been there. They deliberately ignore the difficulties players have to go through when playing in 40-degree heat. Every goal should be valued. I think goals scored in the Saudi Pro League should also be considered for the Golden Boot or the Golden Ball. Numbers do not lie," Ronaldo affirmed.
In June, Ronaldo claimed that the Saudi Pro League was among the top five leagues in the world . "The Saudi Pro League is among the top five leagues in the world and will continue to grow. We have time and the last two years have proven that.
People who have never played football in Saudi Arabia will not understand anything about football here and say that the league is not in the top 5 in the world. I believe 100% in what I say, and people who play in this league understand what I am talking about."
In an interview with UR.Cristiano, Ronaldo reiterated: "This tournament is more competitive than Ligue 1, where only Paris Saint-Germain excels. The Saudi Pro League is even more attractive than the Portuguese national championship."
'Even though I'm 40 years old, I can still score regularly in the Premier League'
Journalist Piers Morgan asked Ronaldo: "A goal is the ultimate answer to all criticism, isn't it?".
The 40-year-old striker replied: "Year after year, year after year, I scored more goals. Even in a bad year, I scored 25 goals. If I played in the Premier League now, in a top team, I would score the same amount."
In his final full season at Manchester United (2021 - 2022), Ronaldo scored 18 goals and had 3 assists in the Premier League. After that, the Portuguese striker only played for half a season, then left Old Trafford after a controversial interview with Piers Morgan.
Ronaldo and Al-Nassr are leading the Saudi Pro League this season with 21 points (7 wins), 3 points more than second-placed Al-Taawoun. The Portuguese striker scored 8 goals and had 1 assist. However, Al-Nassr lost the Saudi Super Cup and the National Cup, so they only have a chance to win the Saudi Pro League and AFC Champions League 2 this season.
