Colors of Vietnamese culture in Uruguay

Attending the program were National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, President of the Uruguayan House of Representatives Sebastian Andujar, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung, and delegates from the two countries.

Speaking at the program, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Manh Hung reiterated the joint statement of the World Culture Conference held in Mexico in 2022, affirming that culture has the mission of connecting nations and peoples. Culture is the driving force for sustainable development that every country is aiming for.

For that reason, according to Minister Nguyen Van Hung, through the art program "Cultural Colors", Vietnam wants to introduce to Uruguayan friends a beautiful Vietnam, the country of President Ho Chi Minh - National Liberation Hero - World Cultural Celebrity.

The country possesses extremely rich and massive cultural resources with more than 40,000 heritage sites, of which 23 are recognized by UNESCO. A country with gentle, hospitable people and the aspiration to build Vietnam into a prosperous country in the international arena.

Minister Nguyen Manh Hung expressed his hope that through the program, international guests will have an experience of Vietnam and from that understanding and sharing, Vietnam will strive to build the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Uruguay to develop to new heights.

Special art program celebrating 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Uruguay

Speaking at the art program, Acting Minister of Education and Culture Anna Rebeiro said that since 1993, when the two countries signed an agreement to establish diplomatic relations, Uruguay has also begun to learn a lot from Vietnam, which is perseverance, endurance and iron will in wars.

Expressing admiration for Vietnam’s recent achievements, Ms. Anna Rebeiro said that Uruguay has exchanged many technological and technical products and information with Vietnam. Uruguay has begun exporting items such as meat, footwear, agricultural products and some scientific and technical products to Vietnam.

According to Minister Anna Rebeiro, the countries are strengthening cooperation to build a long-term future, moving towards the future. In this context, the two countries have had many cooperation agreements to further consolidate and strengthen that relationship.

Ms. Anna Rebeiro emphasized that the official visit of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue to Uruguay is a manifestation of Vietnam's great respect and recognition of Uruguay's role; at the same time, she hopes that in that context, the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries will continue to be strengthened and expanded, with many Vietnamese products reaching Uruguay, including lychees.

The Minister also emphasized that, in addition to exchanging economic and trade products, what makes the friendship more sustainable and long-lasting is the exchange of experiences, understanding, and affection between the two countries. This is to create momentum for the relationship to be more sustainable.

At the program, delegates watched a clip introducing the beauty of the country, people and great development potential of Vietnam; enjoyed performances imbued with Vietnamese culture from traditional to modern with a strong desire for development. The program was warmly received by the Uruguayan audience.

Strengthening sports cooperation between Vietnam and Uruguay

On the same afternoon ( local time), within the framework of the official visit of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue to the Republic of Uruguay, Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung had a bilateral meeting with Mr. Sebastián Bauzá, Uruguayan Minister of Sports.

Expressing his joy at meeting the Minister of Sports and President of the Uruguayan Football Federation, Minister Nguyen Van Hung, President of the Vietnam Olympic Committee, congratulated the sporting achievements that Uruguay has achieved under the leadership of Mr. Sebastián Bauzá.

Uruguay is a football nation rich in achievements, owning the most Copa America championships with 15 championships and once reaching fourth place in the World Cup in South Africa (in 2010).

The Minister hopes that with its experience, Uruguay will support Vietnam in developing football - one of the most popular sports in Vietnam, which has achieved remarkable results in both the men's and women's football teams with a long history of achievements in the Southeast Asian region and is currently the reigning regional champion, the U23 men's football team won the Asian Football Championship runner-up, the women's team reached the World Football Finals in Australia and New Zealand...

Uruguayan Sports Minister presents gift to Minister Nguyen Van Hung

In response to Minister Nguyen Van Hung's proposal for the two sides to jointly develop and sign a specific Sports Cooperation Plan between the two Ministries in the spirit of mutual support, with a focus on football development, Minister Sebastián Bauzá said he was ready to visit Vietnam to survey the infrastructure situation, send Uruguayan football experts to train or welcome the Vietnamese youth football team to train and compete.

The two Ministers agreed on the principles of cooperation, assigned the focal agencies in charge of international cooperation of the two Ministries to promptly draft cooperation documents, consult with the Foreign Ministries of the two countries to proceed to signing and implementation.
