Da Lat Stadium has a lot of money invested, but...

On October 22, Thanh Nien reporters recorded at the Lam Dong Cultural - Sports Complex project (in Lang Biang Ward - Da Lat). Of which, Da Lat Stadium started construction in 2013 and will be completed and put into use by the end of 2023, while the multi-purpose gymnasium and some other items are still under construction.

However, many items of Da Lat Stadium, which have been used for just over 2 years, have shown signs of deterioration. In the sports training building, the paint on the walls is peeling, and the baseboard tiles are peeling and cracked.

Mr. N.D.Kh, a resident who regularly walks around Da Lat Stadium, said that the construction had just been completed but was already damaged everywhere. Many of the drainage system’s panels were broken or missing their covers but had not been replaced, posing a potential danger to passersby.

Through the reporter's observation, many steps and paths leading to the Lam Dong Cultural - Sports Complex were overgrown with weeds, the stone tiles were peeling off, and in some places large sections were missing. The stone pavement around the campus was also damaged and cracked, giving the feeling of a long-abandoned building lacking care and maintenance.

Not only is the environment around Da Lat Stadium degraded, it is also seriously polluted. Both sides of the internal roads are filled with garbage and construction debris. Ms. TTN, a resident living next to the complex, was upset: "Trucks carry garbage and dump it freely, no one handles it. If it continues like this, the stadium will be no different from a garbage dump in the middle of a tourist city."

The Lam Dong cultural and sports complex project has a total investment capital of more than 274 billion VND, invested by the Lam Dong Provincial Cultural and Sports Complex Construction Investment Project Management Board (now the Lam Dong Provincial Traffic Project Management Board), with a total capital of more than 274 billion VND. The project started in 2013 but until now, after more than a decade, it has not been completed.

In the past two years, Da Lat Stadium has been the venue for many football matches involving Lam Dong team and art shows, attracting thousands of people to come and enjoy. But now, the image of this project is making many people regret when witnessing the scene of degradation and squalor in the heart of the city of thousands of flowers.
