Forecasting high purchasing power at the end of the year, since the fourth quarter, commercial businesses in the province have proactively increased their stockpiles by 10-30% compared to previous months. Along with stockpiling goods to serve the people, up to now, businesses and retail establishments in the province have begun to implement promotional programs to stimulate shopping, especially for consumer goods, food, household appliances, electronics, refrigeration, etc.

In supermarkets and shopping centers in the province, domestic goods are more diverse in types and designs, and quality is also improved to compete with imported products. For example, at Hoa Ba Supermarket, there are currently over 30,000 items of all kinds. To serve the year-end consumer demand, the unit imports more types of goods; at the same time, it applies many product promotion programs. Thanks to that, the number of customers at the end of the year is higher than on normal days.
Electronics, refrigeration, clothing, shoe, accessory stores... at this time have also implemented many discount programs to increase attention and increase customer purchasing power, such as: Customer appreciation, year-end clearance, flat-price sales...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh, owner of a clothing shop on Nguyen Chi Thanh Street, Muong Thanh Ward, Dien Bien Phu City, said: "At the end of the year, people's demand for clothes increases. To attract customers, the store has proactively run promotional programs, such as buying clothes and getting gifts or discounts."
In addition to the proactiveness of businesses and stores, to anticipate consumer purchasing power in the last months of the year, the authorities continue to strengthen trade promotion activities, support the promotion of goods consumption as well as develop distribution and retail networks in the area.
