On June 16, more than 4,800 students took the entrance exam for grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School, Ho Chi Minh City. The test requires two parts: essay and multiple choice, with a duration of 90 minutes.
The multiple choice part has 20 English questions, testing knowledge of natural sciences , social sciences, and common sense. The essay part includes English (listening, reading-comprehension, writing), logical thinking math, and reading-comprehension-writing.
After the survey, the answers were informed to several press agencies but at that time the exam questions were not included.

When the department announced the test answers, many parents and students realized that the answer to question 2 was incorrect. The question gave 3 beans and asked them to put them in the squares in the picture so that there was only one bean in each row and column. Therefore, the test did not satisfy the requirements.
In addition to questioning the answer to exercise 2, some parents also suggested that exercise 1 give 4 illustrations for students to think about the rules for arranging the soda cans, but some children said the exam only gave 3 illustrations.
Other opinions reflect that the selection process and scoring in the exam are not clear and transparent.
The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City confirmed that it had received feedback from parents and held meetings to listen to their opinions and wishes.
Regarding question 2, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Nguyen Bao Quoc said that the answer provided by the Department was 8 ways. However, during the marking and review process, the marking council found that some candidates' answers were outside the options such as 0 and 48 ways, which are consistent with the logical thinking of the subject.
Therefore, the board of examiners decided to accept all three results: 8, 0 and 48 ways. Thus, students were awarded 3 points according to the survey's scoring scale with the above three results.
