The People's Committee of Ca Mau province has just issued a decision to transfer the status quo of public educational institutions under the Department of Education and Training (DET) of the old Bac Lieu and Ca Mau provinces to the new DET of Ca Mau province (after the province's merger). Thus, 61 public educational institutions have been transferred in their status quo in terms of facilities, apparatus, and personnel to the new DET of Ca Mau province.

With the above decision, Ca Mau province has 2 specialized high schools, including Bac Lieu specialized high school (Bac Lieu ward) and Phan Ngoc Hien specialized high school (An Xuyen ward); along with 2 ethnic boarding high schools (Bac Lieu Ethnic Minority High School and Ca Mau Ethnic Minority High School).
Ca Mau province also decided to change the name of Phan Ngoc Hien High School (in the old Bac Lieu) to Le Hong Phong School.
In addition, Ca Mau province has only 9 centers for continuing education, career guidance, and support for the development of inclusive education.
After the province's merger, Mr. Nguyen Van Nguyen (born in 1970) - Acting Director of the Department of Education and Training of Bac Lieu province (old) held the position of Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province (new); along with 4 Deputy Directors of the Department including: Mr. Le Hoang Du, Mr. Ta Thanh Vu, Mr. Dang Tri Thu, Mr. Nguyen Ba Long.
