At Quail Hollow, it was a spectacular golf contest, vividly representing a sport divided between PGA Tour stars and LIV Golf from Saudi Arabia.
On the PGA Tour side is world number one golfer Scottie Scheffler . On the opposite side is Jon Rahm.

Both rivals created an attractive race in the final day on Sunday (US time) to determine the PGA Championship - the second major tournament of the year.
Scheffler took the overall victory after a tense final stage.
Rahm fought back strongly when entering the final with a five-stroke deficit, then succumbed in the final stretch when forced to play recklessly.
Scheffler won his third major title at the age of 28, an impressive achievement that puts him on par with two legends, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.

The prestigious Wanamaker Trophy will be placed next to the two green jackets from The Masters (2022 and 2024) in his gallery.
Scheffler won at Charlotte with a score of -11. He shot a par (71) on the final day, but was unbeaten in the final round.
Harris English, Bryson DeChambeau and Davis Riley shared the runner-up spot at -6.
Rahm tried to accelerate with 3 birdies in the first 11 holes to close in on Scheffler. In contrast, the American golfer had 3 bogeys and 1 birdie in the first 9 holes, so the gap narrowed significantly.
However, the last 3 holes, dubbed "Green Mile", made him surrender to his opponent.
At hole 16, Rahm made a bogey. At holes 17 and 18, when he had to take a risk, the Spanish golfer made 2 consecutive double bogeys, ending the tournament with a score of -4, ranked 8th.
Meanwhile, Scheffler played the next 9 holes with 3 birdies and 1 bogey at hole 18.
The pressure was intense on Quail Hollow. The tension showed more in the form of errors than in the form of brilliance.

With Rahm closing in, Scheffler missed two crucial chances at holes 11 and 12 with putts that were a little off in an unbelievable way.
“ I'm really proud of the way we fought this week , ” Scheffler said, pleased with his team.
“ I struggled with my shot the first few days … it was really a team effort. I'm proud of the whole team and looking forward to celebrating this achievement.”
Like his previous crowns, the scene was emotional after Scheffler raised his cap on the 18th green in victory, then met his family, where wife Meredith, son Bennett and his parents were waiting.
After a difficult first half of the season dealing with a hand injury, Scheffler is back to his best, with two titles in less than three weeks.
