On April 2nd, the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Office announced that Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong had signed a decision assigning the Provincial Land Fund Development Center to liquidate the old office building of the Dong Ha City People's Court for auctioning the land use rights. The liquidation will be carried out by demolishing and destroying the building due to its damage and deterioration.

The former headquarters of the Dong Ha City People's Court is located on Dien Bien Phu and Hung Vuong streets, in Quarter 3, Dong Luong Ward, Dong Ha City. This building was completed and put into use in 2006 at a cost of over 4.8 billion VND, with a total area of 2,028 m² and a usable floor area of 1,715 m² .
In 2015, after the Quang Tri Provincial People's Court completed the construction of its new headquarters (Dai Co Viet Street, Dong Ha City), the Dong Ha City People's Court moved back to the old headquarters of the Provincial People's Court (Le Loi Street) and handed over the building to the Provincial People's Court for management. Since then, the old Dong Ha City People's Court headquarters has been abandoned.
In September 2024, the Ministry of Finance decided to transfer the former office building and land of the Dong Ha City People's Court to the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee for management. After receiving the transfer, in December 2024, the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee assigned the Quang Tri Provincial Land Fund Development Center to develop a plan for auctioning the land use rights for this area.
In fulfilling the task assigned by the Provincial People's Committee, the Quang Tri Provincial Land Development Center hired a unit to inspect the aforementioned building in order to assess the current architectural quality and load-bearing structural system, and to develop a plan for handling the land and building assets.
The inspection results show that this headquarters building is classified as dangerous at level C, with the column and foundation structures not meeting safety standards. To continue using the building, high-tech renovation and reinforcement measures are required, along with maintenance of the load-bearing structure and enclosure... at an estimated cost of 5.3 billion VND, while the original cost of the building was only 4.3 billion VND.
Therefore, the Quang Tri Provincial Land Development Center proposes that the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee allow the unit to liquidate this headquarters by demolishing and destroying it before putting it up for auction as residential land.
