The old office building of Dong Ha City People's Court will be demolished.

On April 2, the Office of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee announced that the Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Ha Sy Dong, had signed a decision to assign the Provincial Land Fund Development Center to liquidate the old office of the Dong Ha City People's Court to auction the land use rights. The liquidation was carried out in the form of demolition and cancellation of the project because it was damaged and degraded.

The old headquarters of Dong Ha City People's Court is located on Dien Bien Phu and Hung Vuong streets, in Quarter 3, Dong Luong Ward, Dong Ha City. This headquarters was completed and put into use in 2006 with a cost of more than 4.8 billion VND, a total area of 2,028 m ² , and a usable floor area of 1,715 m ² .

In 2015, after the People's Court of Quang Tri province completed the construction of a new headquarters (Dai Co Viet Street, Dong Ha City), the People's Court of Dong Ha City moved to the old headquarters of the Provincial People's Court (Le Loi Street) and handed over this headquarters to the Provincial People's Court for management. Since then, the old headquarters of the People's Court of Dong Ha City has been abandoned.

In September 2024, the Ministry of Finance decided to transfer the old office building and land of the Dong Ha City People's Court to the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee for management. After receiving the transfer, in December 2024, the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee assigned the Quang Tri Provincial Land Fund Development Center to prepare a plan for auctioning land use rights for this land.

Carrying out the tasks assigned by the Provincial People's Committee, the Quang Tri Provincial Land Fund Development Center hired an inspection unit for the above-mentioned project to assess the current quality of the architecture and load-bearing structure system to have a plan to handle the real estate assets.

The inspection results show that this headquarters has a level C danger level, the column system and load-bearing foundation do not ensure safe load-bearing capacity. To continue using the project, it requires high-tech renovation and reinforcement measures, maintenance of the load-bearing structure and covering... with an estimated cost of 5.3 billion VND, while the original price of this headquarters is only 4.3 billion VND.

Therefore, the Quang Tri Provincial Land Fund Development Center proposed that the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee allow the unit to liquidate this headquarters by demolishing and destroying it before auctioning it for residential land.
