Saigon - Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank ( SHB ) pioneered in connecting with VETC to help customers identify their ETC traffic accounts and easily link their wallets in just one short, unified process. At the same time, a series of practical incentives were also deployed, supporting customers to comply with regulations in a convenient and economical way.
According to Decree 119/2024/ND-CP, all traffic accounts currently used to pay non-stop road fees (ETC) must be identified and fully authenticated with customer identification information before October 1, 2025. After identification is completed, the traffic account will be connected to a non-cash payment method such as an e-wallet, bank card or payment account in the owner's name.
Timely grasping the transformation requirements and accompanying the Government 's trend of digitalizing transportation, SHB has pioneered the implementation of the eKYC connection solution with VETC, allowing customers to identify and link ETC accounts quickly, safely and seamlessly right on the digital platform.
Specifically, individual customers who do not have an account at SHB and have not linked their VETC wallet will log in to the VETC application and fully identify their personal information according to the new standard, including: Full name, ID card, license plate number, phone number, email, face authentication....
Once identification is completed, customers only need to confirm opening and share information with SHB to immediately open a personal bank account and automatically link to the VETC wallet. Every step is simplified, helping the connection process to be completed quickly, thereby promptly meeting the requirements of Decree 119.
In particular, after completing the above steps, from now until September 15, 2025, customers will immediately receive 35,000 VND in VETC Wallet as a gift, a wish for convenience on all roads from SHB. In addition, SHB also offers 8,000 E-voucher codes with a discount of 50,000 VND when topping up a phone from 100,000 VND for customers on the SHB SAHA e-banking application. The total value of the gifts is more than 3.2 billion VND.
According to SHB representative, identity authentication before October 1, 2025 is not only a procedural requirement of the Government, but also an important step to ensure the legality, transparency and safety in the entire non-stop electronic payment process for people. This activity also helps prevent fraud, counterfeiting, and profiteering in toll collection operations and protect the rights of vehicle users.
“By proactively authenticating and linking ETC accounts directly with the owner’s bank accounts, each journey is not only smooth through the station, but also ensures the rights and legality of users in the long term. SHB is proud to be one of the first banks to integrate an identification solution that connects directly with VETC, providing a quick, seamless and secure experience of opening and linking transport accounts right on the digital platform,” emphasized the SHB representative.
