Indonesian player's masterpiece nominated for Puskas award

On the morning of November 14, FIFA announced 11 super products for the Puskas 2025 nomination. Among them appeared the name Rizky Ridho, center back of the Indonesian national team.

His goal came on March 9, in a match between Persija Jakarta and Arema in the Indonesian Championship. In the 62nd minute of the match, Rizky Ridho stole the ball in his own half, passed it to his teammate and continued to rush forward like a striker.

Receiving the ball back, the player wearing the number 5 shirt observed for a few moments. Then, unexpectedly from the middle of the field, he launched a chip from a very long distance. This daring and unexpected handling situation turned into a masterpiece of his life, when the ball went into the net, leaving goalkeeper Arema helpless.

Unfortunately, Ridho's team, Persija Jakarta, lost the match 1-3. But Rizky Ridho's goal was so beautiful that FIFA recognized it and included it in this year's Puskas nomination list.

This year, FIFA has put forward a total of 11 nominations. Among them are goals from famous players such as Lamine Yamal, Declan Rice. The format to choose the winner will be for fans to vote on the FIFA homepage.

Rizky Ridho, born in 2001, is one of the brightest talents of Indonesian football. Under coach Shin Tae Yong, he is one of the few "domestic" players to be able to make it into the squad of all naturalized stars.

Since the Puskas Award was established in 2009, only one Southeast Asian player has won it. That was the case of Malaysian striker Mohd Faiz Subri in 2016.
