The cause is believed to be a "super fog" that obstructed drivers' vision.
According to local authorities, the serious accident occurred on Interstate 55, causing severe damage to more than 150 vehicles, at least 7 people were killed, 25 others were injured. Of the 25 injured people who were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment, many are in critical condition.
The "super fog" phenomenon has reduced the driver's visibility to almost zero, leading to a series of collisions.
