On May 21, Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong announced his cabinet for the new term, more than 2 weeks after he received strong support from the people in the 2025 general election.

Speaking at a press conference at the National Press Centre, Prime Minister Wong asserted that the new cabinet is "the strongest possible team for Singapore."

The new cabinet retains Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Gan Kim Yong, Prime Minister Wong's right-hand man. However, the new cabinet has only one Deputy Prime Minister, which is different from before.

In addition, Prime Minister Wong reappointed three current ministers, Mr. K. Shanmugam, Mr. Chan Chun Sing and Mr. Ong Ye Kung, to take charge of the Coordinating Ministries of National Security, Public Service and Social Policy.

In this reshuffle, all ministries saw at least one change in personnel. However, the latest changes mainly involved young faces in the social and security sectors, while the economic sector remained largely unchanged.

There are nine new appointments in the Cabinet, while six veteran officials are retiring, including former Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat, Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean, Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen, Dr Maliki Osman, Mr Heng Chee How and Dr Amy Khor.

The changes in the new Cabinet will take effect from May 23, unless otherwise specified for different individuals.

In the general election on May 3, Prime Minister Wong's People's Action Party (PAP) won 65.57% of the votes.
