Students of the Academy of Journalism and Communication gain practical experience in Quang Ninh

Dr. Vu Hoai Phuong, as the head of the delegation, led the Policy Communication class K40 - Academy of Journalism and Propaganda to visit and work with the Department of Information and Communication of Quang Ninh province. This is an activity within the plan of the subject of Speaking and communicating with the press with the aim of helping students observe and apply the subject's knowledge into practice.

At the meeting, Mr. Ly Cong Tu, Deputy Head of the Department of Information, Press, and Publishing, representing the Department of Information and Communications of the province, reported on the implementation of the decree on statements and provision of press information by state administrative agencies in Quang Ninh province.

From 2017 to present, the Department of Information and Communications of the province has issued 5 documents guiding the implementation of Decree 09 of the Government on guidelines for contacting and working with the press, ending the situation of taking advantage of the press name to harass and operate illegally in Quang Ninh province.

Since the end of 2018, Quang Ninh province has opened a Zalo channel called "Quang Ninh Province e-Government" to connect with the people. Up to now, this channel has connected 981,900 interested people's accounts.

In addition, Quang Ninh is always the leading province in organizing training courses on speaking and providing information to the press. The province also organized 4 provincial-level training courses and 4 district-level training courses to provide guidance on speaking and interacting with the press.

"The implementation of the rights and responsibilities of the spokesperson and authorized spokesperson of Quang Ninh province is a bright spot in the work of speaking and providing information to the press. In the province, there has not been a case of a spokesperson refusing to speak, providing false information or speaking and providing information on issues beyond the authority of the spokesperson," Mr. Tu affirmed.

After listening to the province's report, Dr. Vu Hoai Phuong gave her opinions and questions about a number of issues surrounding the agency's press communications and speaking work. In addition, she also proposed a number of theoretical and practical suggestions for the local authorities regarding this work.

As a lecturer with many years of experience teaching about speaking and communicating with the press, these are extremely valuable shares that help the locality to improve more and more in this work. In addition, students attending the meeting also raised opinions and asked questions to help the meeting become more lively and practical.

After 2 hours of effective work, the seminar was successful with sharing and exchanging local experiences. The students had useful lessons in speaking and communicating with the provincial press.
