Initially, the school applied attendance by magnetic cards but there were still limitations such as easy to forget cards and possible mistakes. From the 2024-2025 school year, the system was upgraded with facial recognition technology, with 6 attendance machines placed at the entrance gates. This investment meets the management needs of a large-scale school, with 1,740 students, in line with the digital transformation trend in the education sector.

Excited about the new roll call technology, Bui Ngoc Nhu Y, Class 12A3, said: “Just stand in front of the machine and the system will recognize you immediately, very convenient and time-saving. I feel that this technology is modern and professional.”

Phan Nguyen Khang, Class 12A5, shared: “Thanks to the application of technology, taking attendance has become easier and helps teachers manage accurately. Every morning when I go to school, I feel happy and enjoy this experience.”

Quick roll call helps students have more time to settle into class, teachers start lessons on time; at the same time, attendance data is continuously and accurately updated, supporting effective reporting.

The big advantage of the facial recognition system is that the data is synchronized with the application on the parent's phone. Just a few seconds after the roll call, the parent will receive a notification confirming that the child has arrived at school.

Mr. Pham Tien Nguyen, a parent, expressed his satisfaction: “Previously, manual roll call took about 5 minutes, now the automatic system helps save time, giving more time for class activities and studying. Phone notifications sent right after the students roll call helps parents feel secure.”

To ensure stable operation, each class is equipped with 2 roll call machines to avoid rush hour congestion and ensure continuous data transmission.

Mr. Tran Quang Dien, Principal of Vo Van Kiet High School, said: " Viettel supports the installation of the system, the school only pays for transmission and operating costs."

The application of the automatic attendance system not only replaces the traditional attendance book but also creates an important foundation for the digital school model. Technology is practically applied to management activities, contributing to improving transparency and effective connection between students, parents and schools.

In the coming time, Vo Van Kiet High School plans to expand and integrate other digital utilities to build a modern, friendly educational environment that is suitable for the industry's digital transformation orientation.
