Substantive changes

To create new momentum , Ca Mau has been promoting administrative reform, supporting enterprises to develop production and business, improving the investment environment to be open, transparent, stable and creating a dynamic local image, ready to receive high-quality capital flows. From the direction of the provincial leaders to each industry and each level, all show great determination to create substantial changes, contributing to promoting socio -economic growth.

Many tourists know Ca Mau through culinary trade fairs.

Along with administrative reform, Ca Mau prioritizes strong investment in transport infrastructure, an area considered a lever for development. Many key projects are being focused on investment, notably the arterial highways: Can Tho - Ca Mau, Ca Mau - Dat Mui and the traffic route to Hon Khoai Island. In particular, the Hon Khoai dual-use general port is being built with a scale of receiving ships with a capacity of up to 250,000 tons. With its special position and strong investment, Hon Khoai is gradually shaping up to become the "southernmost continent" of the Fatherland - an international gateway, a key economic seaport cluster and playing a strategic role in national defense and security.

In addition, Ca Mau Airport is being upgraded to accommodate modern aircraft, further expanding the door to tourism and goods exchange. When completed, these projects will make Ca Mau an important international trade gateway of the region.

The event "Hello Ca Mau" opens up opportunities for exchange and cooperation between Ca Mau and businesses and consulates.

Many large corporations see that potential and accompany the province. Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of T&T Group, affirmed: "Ca Mau is a locality that the Group is particularly interested in in its long-term investment strategy. The cooperation between the Group and Ca Mau province has been maintained closely and effectively in the past and the coming period in many fields, from construction investment, urban planning to social security activities. This relationship is concretized through a strategic cooperation agreement signed in 2021, along with key projects being implemented such as: New urban area Hamlet 5, Ward 1 (now An Xuyen Ward), in which, a social housing project of more than 1,200 units just started construction on August 19 and many social security programs, disaster relief, education sponsorship...".

Comprehensive Development Center

In the economic field, after the merger, Ca Mau province has risen to become the largest aquaculture center in the country. Particularly the shrimp industry - the province's economic spearhead, annual export turnover exceeds 2 billion USD. In addition, in the first 9 months of 2025, GRDP growth reached 7.53%, reflecting the strong movement and determination to overcome difficulties of the entire political system.

Along with the province's development strategy, major national orientations are also creating momentum for Ca Mau to develop. In the Mekong Delta Regional Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Ca Mau is identified as the region's agricultural hub associated with the raw material area for aquatic products in the coastal area. The province is also oriented to be a locality focusing on developing renewable energy (wind power), fertilizer industry (gas - electricity - nitrogen)... At the same time, promoting the role, enhancing the attractiveness and position of Ca Mau Cape Tourist Area with the orientation of becoming a national tourist area, to promote tourism development of the province and the whole region. From there, a new coastal economic corridor is being formed, focusing on renewable energy, aquatic product clusters, marine occupations, island urban areas and eco-tourism.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Thanh Thuy visited and encouraged businesses at the exhibition and trade fair space within the framework of the series of events of the 2nd Ca Mau Crab Festival in 2025.

Not stopping there, the draft adjustment of the regional planning continues to expand the vision for Ca Mau, determining that the locality will become the center of aquaculture, green energy and maritime of the region; build the logistics corridor Can Tho - Tran De - Ca Mau connecting industrial parks, economic zones, urban areas, seaports, airports; form a coastal and marine tourism route connecting with Hon Khoai island cluster; research to establish a new coastal economic zone in Hon Khoai area with special mechanisms and policies...

The Government's regional planning, along with efforts and determination to reform administration, create a favorable business environment, attract investment, promote regional connectivity and expand trade cooperation... are the "keys" for the southernmost region of the country to become the new growth pole of the region.

Ca Mau Crab Festival contributes to promoting tourism and trade, expanding investment cooperation opportunities for the province.

Affirming that determination, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai emphasized: With the spirit of "Unleashing potential, creating the future", Ca Mau welcomes and wishes to cooperate long-term and effectively with domestic and foreign organizations, associations and enterprises. The province hopes to become an attractive destination, a reliable partner of the business community, aiming to build Ca Mau into a growth pole of the Mekong Delta region, a center of rapid, sustainable, comprehensive development, confidently entering a new era of development with the whole country.
