These are reservoirs that regulate water into the Cai Nha Trang River. However, according to the leader of Khanh Hoa Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited, the unit that manages and operates the three reservoirs mentioned above, the use of words to spread the information is not technically correct, which can cause public confusion.

In fact, according to the company's announcements, based on the approved Disaster Response Plan to ensure dam safety during the 2025 flood season (for each lake); based on the amount of water in the lake, forecasted rainfall in the upstream area; to ensure the safety of the project, limit flooding in the downstream area, and operate and regulate according to regulations, Khanh Hoa Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited informs localities and units about the plan to operate and regulate the lakes from December 4 to December 10, specifically as follows: Suoi Dau Lake: regulate from 30-150 m ³ /s; Am Chua Lake from 3-30m ³ /s; Dac Loc Lake from 5-25m ³ /s.

The regulation of the flow rate depends largely on the water flow to the lake, ensuring that it does not exceed the above flow rate. At the same time, the regulated flow rate during the day will be higher than at night. In case of heavy rain, the water flow to the lake is larger than expected, it is necessary to increase the regulation level, the company will notify the relevant departments and localities to adjust the flow rate.

On December 4, Suoi Dau Lake regulated at 20.4m ³ /s; Am Chua 2.58m ³ /s; Dac Loc 8.19m ³ /s. This regulated flow is insignificant and is not the main reason for the rising water level of Cai Nha Trang River on the morning of December 4. Accordingly, on Cai Nha Trang River at Dong Trang hydrological station is 6.88m, below warning level 1 is 1.12m. It is estimated that in the next 24 hours, the flood level downstream of Cai Nha Trang River will fluctuate above and below warning level 1.
