This is a practical activity in the subject of electronic product production and communication, a program designed by Tuoi Tre newspaper within the framework of training cooperation between Tuoi Tre newspaper and Nguyen Tat Thanh University.
Meet idols, learn from reality
The highlight of the session was the presence of swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien, who won many gold medals at the SEA Games.
Not only sharing her journey of persistently pursuing her passion for sports , Anh Vien also directly instructs students on swimming techniques, while also strongly inspiring the will to overcome difficulties and a resilient competitive spirit.
During the class, students are not just spectators but are transformed into real journalists. At the scene, they actively record videos, take photos, ask interview questions and produce press products such as video clips, news articles, images, etc.

Many students commented that this practice session helped them practice quick reflexes, handle situations flexibly, and develop journalistic thinking, writing, listening, and storytelling in many forms. Through this, they clearly saw the gap between theory and practice, thereby improving the quality of their exercises and their confidence when entering the real working environment.
As one of the students participating in the practical session, To Huu Phat - a second-year student of the creative communication department - said he was very impressed with the spirit and positive energy of athlete Anh Vien.
"Through her story, from her initial passion for swimming to her journey of constant training, I clearly feel her determination and courage to pursue her dream. That is also the motivation for me to look back at myself, be more positive and try harder on my future journey," Phat said.
For Phat, this practical lesson was not only an opportunity to meet inspirational figures, but also a chance to get closer to journalism, from field work to the process of producing an article published in major newspapers such as Tuoi Tre . Practical experiences like this are extremely practical and useful for students majoring in communications.
More confident after each press of the button and ask a question
Having been quite nervous before the practical session, Anh Thu - a second-year student of the creative communication department - shared that the initial confusion was quickly replaced by positive emotions when she met and listened to the inspiring story of athlete Anh Vien.
Not only did Anh Thu learn how to work professionally through the filming, she was also inspired to start exercising, something she had never thought of before.
For Anh Thu, the class is an opportunity for her to directly touch the work of the profession. From interviews, filming, to working on location, all are valuable experiences that help Thu practice her skills and improve herself on the journey to becoming a professional media person.
Bao Hy - a first-year student of the creative media department - believes that this practical lesson brought many memorable experiences, helping her understand and love her major more. Not only did she get to access a real working environment, Bao Hy also had the opportunity to meet, listen to and directly ask questions to famous people, which she believes brought genuine emotions and clear inspiration.
From those experiences, Bao Hy realized that she became more confident, practiced her observation skills as well as accumulated many professional skills such as filming, recording interviews and asking questions.
"Unlike learning theory in class, practical lessons like this play an important role in helping students get acquainted with future jobs," Hy said.

Similarly, Kim Ngan, a third-year student in the creative media department, said that this practical training session was a valuable opportunity for her to gain exposure and experience in a real working environment. For Ngan, this not only helps students gain early experience but also equips them with new knowledge to effectively support their current studies and future career journey.
Ngan highly appreciates the experiential value that the lesson brings. Compared to learning theory in the classroom, Ngan clearly feels the difference.
"Theory in class only helps me grasp the basic knowledge, but it is not until I directly apply it in practice like today that I truly realize what I am doing right and what I am doing wrong, so that I can learn from experience and improve," Ngan shared.

"Do real - learn real": Experience helps students mature
Swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien shared that being introduced to meet and accompany students and young people who will contribute to spreading good things about Vietnam to international friends in the future makes her feel honored.
According to Anh Vien, practical experience sessions like this are a great environment for students to practice and develop. Being exposed to the world from the time they are still in school will help them accumulate practical materials and experiences, creating a solid foundation for them to confidently step into their professional lives later on.
When asked about how students participated in the work and asked questions during the experience, Anh Vien highly appreciated their professionalism and confidence.
"Today's lesson was very carefully prepared by you guys, focusing on the issues that I care about. That was clearly shown through the way you asked sharp, focused questions that touched on the things I really wanted to learn," Anh Vien commented.
