Number of dengue fever cases in Hanoi increased sharply

Districts with many patients this week are: Phu Xuyen (163 cases), Hoang Mai (136 cases), Cau Giay (134 cases), Ha Dong (132 cases), Dong Da (125 cases), Dan Phuong (122 cases), Thanh Oai (119 cases), Thanh Tri (104 cases).

In addition, the communes and wards that recorded many patients this week are Dinh Cong ward, Hoang Mai district (44 cases); Tan Lap commune, Dan Phuong district (40 cases); Dich Vong Hau ward, Cau Giay district (34 cases); Phung Xa commune, Thach That district (35 cases); Huu Bang commune, Thach That district (34 cases); Cao Vien commune, Thanh Oai district (31 cases)...

Thus, from the beginning of 2023 until now, Hanoi has recorded 10,372 cases of dengue fever, including 3 deaths. Compared to the same period in 2022, the number of cases increased nearly 4 times; the number of deaths is equivalent.

Patients recorded since the beginning of the year are distributed in 30/30 districts, towns and cities; 533/579 communes, wards and towns. Districts with many patients are: Thach That (833 cases), Hoang Mai (827 cases), Thanh Tri (727 cases), Ha Dong (607 cases), Phu Xuyen (603 cases), Dong Da (577 cases), Cau Giay (558 cases), Nam Tu Liem (523 cases).

Also this week, Hanoi recorded 72 more dengue fever outbreaks in 15 districts: Dong Da (16 outbreaks); Ha Dong, Hoang Mai - each with 8 outbreaks; Thanh Oai (7 outbreaks); Phuc Tho (6 outbreaks); Hai Ba Trung, Bac Tu Liem - each with 4 outbreaks; Tay Ho, Quoc Oai, Phu Xuyen (3 outbreaks); Dan Phuong, Thuong Tin, Ba Vi (2 outbreaks); Hoan Kiem, My Duc (1 outbreak).

The total number of outbreaks up to now is 730. There are currently 258 outbreaks operating in 30 districts, towns, and cities, of which some outbreaks have recorded many patients such as: Phung Xa Commune - Thach That District (439 cases); Huu Bang Commune - Thach That District (306 cases); Nguyen Hanh Village - Van Tu Commune - Thuong Tin District (91 cases); Dong Village - Cao Vien Commune - Thanh Oai District (57 cases); O Cho Dua Ward - Dong Da District (29 cases)...

According to the Hanoi CDC, the city is entering the peak period of dengue fever with the number of cases constantly increasing.

Hanoi CDC requests the Medical Centers of districts, towns and cities to base on the patient situation and the results of monitoring dengue-transmitting insects to advise the People's Committees of localities to strengthen environmental sanitation campaigns - kill mosquito larvae and actively spray mosquito-killing chemicals in communes, wards and towns. Localities need to continue to strengthen monitoring of mosquito larvae and dengue-transmitting mosquitoes in areas with cases, outbreaks and high-risk areas, thereby implementing appropriate and timely response activities. On the other hand, localities need to mobilize departments, branches, unions and other forces to participate in supporting environmental sanitation, killing mosquito larvae.../.
