Ban Ve Hydroelectric Plant and Khe Bo Hydroelectric Plant are two large-capacity hydroelectric plants in the Southwest of Nghe An . Of which, Ban Ve Hydroelectric Plant has a capacity of 320 MW and Khe Bo Hydroelectric Plant has a capacity of 100 MW. After being put into operation, both plants have been connected to the national grid.

The connection to the national grid of these two factories is carried out through the following lines: 273 Do Luong - 272 Khe Bo; 276 Tuong Duong - 271 Ban Ve and line 272 Ban Ve - 271 Khe Bo. On the line, there are also 220kV Tuong Duong and Do Luong transformer stations, which are stations directly connected to the grid from these two factories. This line system is managed and operated by Nghe An Power Transmission.

Because the power lines pass through complex mountainous terrain and are located in areas with harsh weather and climate conditions, they have greatly affected the operation and troubleshooting of the power grid.

In particular, during the rainy season, strong winds and thunderstorms, lightning strikes often cause discharges through the porcelain chain, broken wires, damaged wires, accessories... During the dry season, hot weather, whirlwinds, fog, discharges through the porcelain chain due to contaminated porcelain insulation... In addition, tall trees located near the corridor are also at risk of causing contact and short circuit, leading to unsafe operation of the line.

In addition, due to high load during peak season, it leads to overloaded operation of 220 kV lines and transformer stations.

At the conference, the units together gave their opinions and discussed solutions to improve the efficiency of handling incidents when they occur. Evaluated the ability to handle situations on-site, to quickly fix incidents, reduce power outage time caused by incidents, especially incidents caused by lightning strikes, and current lightning protection measures. Reviewed and evaluated the relay system to protect the 272 Ban Ve - 271, 273 Khe Bo lines and solutions to ensure the system operates stably and long-term.

After discussion, the units also agreed to adjust the Coordination Regulations to ensure safe operations between units in the coming time.
