Songs in harmony with the heart
Over the past few days, audiences across the country have not yet recovered from their impressions and emotions, trembling with the record image of more than 50,000 people present at My Dinh Stadium ( Hanoi ) putting their hands on their chests, singing Tien Quan Ca, Dat Nuoc Tron Niu Vui... amidst a forest of fluttering flags. This is an unprecedented harmony in this place. The political art program called To Quoc Trong Tim (co-organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper and Hanoi People's Committee) is jokingly called a "national concert" - a phrase that Gen Z youth often use to refer to large-scale art events on the occasion of the country's major anniversaries.
Present at the program, musician Nguyen Van Chung was filled with pride. He said this was the first time he "went to a concert" with 50,000 spectators. "A political art program including songs about the homeland, national pride... harmonized with youthful music with a modern sound system, lighting, stage, and LED screen. I will always remember the images and emotions of that day. It was the sacred moment when the national anthem was sung, when the national flag fluttered, tens of thousands of LED lights from phones, the cheers, and the strong footsteps of the soldiers", the male musician shared.
In addition to the Fatherland in the Heart, there are also major art programs launched such as: the political art program Under the Glorious Flag, the event V Concert - Radiant Vietnam, the concert V-Fest - Glorious Youth... and tonight, August 17, the special art program Proud to be Vietnamese took place at My Dinh Stadium, extending the grand art programs to celebrate the 80th National Day. Audience member Pham Quynh Anh (40 years old, Binh Loi Trung ward, Ho Chi Minh City) shared: “I couldn't take my eyes off the screen, the programs were really good. Music has the power to connect hearts. Through the screen, I still feel the spirit of patriotism rising. These days, the festival atmosphere is everywhere, almost every week there are grand concerts. Such music programs not only create an entertainment space but also contribute to educating and increasing patriotism for young people".
Creating spiritual and cultural space
It can be said that 2025 is the year of art and culture imbued with national spirit. Many programs, projects, albums, and songs about the homeland, the country, and the Vietnamese people have been born with all the pride. September 2 is approaching, and Vietnamese hearts everywhere are once again beating with the fire of the Fatherland and patriotism through songs. Each song is an affirmation that no matter how much time passes, the spirit of patriotism still burns brightly in the hearts of Vietnamese people!
In early August, singer Vo Ha Tram released the MV Nguyen la nguoi Viet Nam (I Will Be a Vietnamese) composed by 9X musician Doan Minh Quan. Next, singer Nguyen Vu launched the project Vietnam - The Rising Era, including 34 songs praising the beauty of 34 provinces and cities after the merger. At the same time, the music production group DTAP announced the release of the album and MV Made in Vietnam with the participation of People's Artist Thanh Hoa, singer Truc Nhan, Phuong My Chi... Many other artists also introduced meaningful projects: Trang Phap with the MV Mai la nguoi Viet Nam (Forever Vietnamese); Nguyen Duyen Quynh and musician Nguyen Van Chung made the MV Nguyen the vi binh yen (Forever Vietnamese); Truong Tran Anh Duy with the MV Ngan nga Viet Nam (Vietnam); musician Tram Tran and musician Duong Truong Giang released Vut bay len Viet Nam (Soaring Vietnam)...
In particular, singer Tung Duong collaborated with musician Nguyen Van Chung to release the MV Vietnam, proudly following the future. The song uses modern Dance/EDM elements combined with symphonic instruments to create a musical space imbued with national spirit while introducing a diverse Vietnam.
The success of these events, political music and art programs, music projects, and theme songs is a positive sign. This shows that the artists' efforts to create a cultural and spiritual space with a strong national identity have reached modern audiences. In addition to reminding us of historical values and patriotism, the way the organizers and artists change in their compositions and promotions has contributed significantly to the success. These are new songs combining modern and traditional materials, new arrangements of immortal songs, collaborations between artists opening up new approaches... Along with that are many ways for the audience to immerse themselves in "national concerts" such as using items with the image of the red flag with a yellow star, lightsticks (light sticks) in the shape of the national flag, shirts printed with the Vietnamese motto... Even Kiss Cam - a familiar form of entertainment in the world but quite new in Vietnam - has appeared in some political art programs, creating novelty and attracting audiences, especially young people.
But above all, it is the love for the Fatherland and the national cultural identity that is the most important red thread, connecting millions of hearts that beat together in harmony with the proud march of the Fatherland, the symphonies of origin and aspiration.
Singer Nguyen Phi Hung shared: “Each generation has its own way of loving the country, and so do artists. At this time, each patriotic song has its own position and role, especially in the context of the country entering a new era. I hope the audience will accept the songs as a source of positive energy, a beautiful message that artists have painstakingly created, serving the country through art, continuing the story of national pride.”
