This is not only a place to practice skills, but also a destination for children to explore their passions and develop themselves.

Many options…

Every summer, Ms. Yen's drawing class in Ward 7, Tan Phong Ward (Bien Hoa City) becomes more bustling. The drawing class was opened by Ms. Pham Thi Yen - a teacher at Thong Nhat Kindergarten (Thong Nhat Ward, Bien Hoa City) in 2019. In a simple, colorful space, groups of students are absorbed in their easels, carefully mixing colors, and sketching out their soaring ideas on white paper.

“I want to draw a park with a slide and lots of trees,” said Bao Ngoc, 6 years old, excitedly as she drew and told. Ms. Yen gently guided each brush stroke, helping the children unleash their creativity on each page. For her, teaching drawing is not just about imparting skills, but also about sowing the seeds of creativity into children’s souls.

Ms. Yen said that she has loved painting since she was very young. With the desire to create a playground for children, as well as spread her passion for art, she opened Ms. Yen's painting class. Currently, the painting class has 2 locations in Tan Phong ward and Tan Mai ward, with a weekly schedule of 3 shifts: morning - afternoon - evening. During the summer, the number of students studying painting is quite large, the classroom atmosphere is always cheerful and colorful.

Along with the gifted classes, this summer at Dong Nai Library, the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2025 and the Storytelling and Painting Contest based on books of Dong Nai Province 2025 will take place. These are two major competitions held annually, attracting a large number of primary, secondary and high school students in the province to participate.

At Dong Nai Children's House, dozens of gifted classes are organized such as: singing, painting, calligraphy, organ, aerobics, swimming, soccer, martial arts..., attracting a large number of students to participate. Every child is excited, with a bright face when learning the subjects they love.

Ms. Hoang Thi Mai Anh (living in Trung Dung ward, Bien Hoa city) is waiting for her child to finish soccer class and shares: “Last summer, my child just stayed at home, watching TV and using his phone all day. This year, my family sent him to soccer lessons at NTN Dong Nai, and I saw that he was much more active. Every time practice ended, he would chatter to his mother about all the stories from the soccer field.”

Director of NTN Dong Nai Truong Hai Thi said that in the summer of 2025, NTN will continue to implement hobby-based talent classes for students in Bien Hoa city with 26 subjects, 74 classes and more than 2,000 students. Currently, outdoor talent classes such as soccer, swimming, basketball, martial arts, etc. are of great interest to parents, creating conditions for children to participate. In particular, NTN is implementing many life skills classes during the summer.

What’s new this year is that NTN Dong Nai promotes digital transformation through implementing learning and organizing STEM activities with AI; at the same time, improving English proficiency through lessons with foreign teachers. NTN also creates conditions for students to experience and participate in the program I am a People’s Police Soldier and playgrounds related to psychological counseling, legal counseling, etc.

In order to bring children and teenagers a safe and useful summer, as well as gain more necessary knowledge and skills, Dong Nai Sports Training and Competition Center has been organizing many free talent classes such as: swimming, soccer, badminton, martial arts, petanque, karate, rattan ball, boxing... Information about free classes is posted on the unit's fanpage to help parents easily choose and register their children to study. In particular, the unit focuses on swimming teaching activities, helping students equip themselves with drowning prevention skills - an urgent content every summer.

Towards the base

Following the rich activities in the provincial center, summer talent classes are also spreading strongly to districts and cities in Dong Nai. With the motto of "bringing summer activities to the grassroots", many units have proactively organized training programs, performances and talent guidance for local children.

At Dong Nai Cultural and Cinema Center, staff and artists are preparing for 3 sessions of singing and performing arts classes in schools next July.

In response to the increasing demand for gifted learning among the people, private centers for music, fine arts, sports, etc. in the province are also quite active. Classes such as piano, organ, guitar, vocal music, and drawing are always fully booked from morning to afternoon. Notably, these classes not only focus on developing artistic talents, but also on training soft skills, helping Dong Nai youth to be more confident when performing in front of a crowd.

Mr. Duong Thanh Minh Phuong, an officer of the Professional Department, said: “To organize the class effectively, we divide it into summer skills training sessions for the children. The first two sessions will be for teenagers in Trang Bom district and Bien Hoa city. The remaining session will be for students of Drug Rehabilitation Center No. 1.”

According to Mr. Phuong, the new point this year is that in addition to performance skills, students also learn about stage techniques, sound and lighting, how to choose age-appropriate music and create a program based on a theme... The center always strives to innovate the content and methods of summer vocational guidance with the goal of not only teaching skills, but also inspiring students' passion for art, helping them practice self-confidence, teamwork ability and comprehensive development.

This year's summer atmosphere has been "heated up" in many remote areas thanks to the coordination of units and localities. Many communes, wards and towns have proactively connected with cultural, sports and community learning centers, cultural houses and clubs to organize martial arts, aerobics, life skills, painting classes... right at cultural institutions, schools or local stadiums. This approach has helped thousands of children have access to useful summer activities without having to travel far.

In the summer of 2025, the Bac Son Commune Cultural, Sports and Community Learning Center (Trang Bom District) opened many traditional martial arts classes, volleyball, badminton, aerobics clubs, mass art troupes and a children's playground that regularly operated, attracting thousands of participants. In particular, the center regularly coordinates with Song Xanh swimming pool to organize swimming classes to prevent drowning for students.

Summer is not only a time for rest, but also a golden time for young people in Dong Nai to learn, discover themselves through talent classes, and nurture their passion. Talent classes have been doing a great job in bringing a meaningful and memorable summer to thousands of children.

According to Director of NTN Dong Nai Truong Hai Thi, to attract local youth to participate in summer activities, NTN organizes many sports and physical training competitions, competitions such as organ competition, golden singing competition, etc., with both online competitions (qualifying round) and direct competitions (final). Thanks to that, children from districts and cities across the province have the opportunity to register to participate and demonstrate their talents.

“With the synchronous participation of all levels, sectors, local authorities, the support of parents and the positive spirit from the community, summer 2025 in Dong Nai is truly becoming a meaningful summer - where students can play, study and most importantly, live a full childhood full of colors, passion and dreams” - Mr. Hai Thi emphasized.
