This is not only a place to hone skills, but also a destination for children to discover their passions and develop themselves.

Many options…

Every summer, Ms. Yen's art class in Ward 7, Tan Phong Commune (Bien Hoa City) becomes even more bustling. The class was opened in 2019 by Ms. Pham Thi Yen, a teacher at Thong Nhat Kindergarten (Thong Nhat Commune, Bien Hoa City). In a simple yet colorful space, groups of students enthusiastically sit at their easels, carefully mixing colors and sketching their imaginative ideas on white paper.

“I want to draw a park with slides and lots of green trees,” said six-year-old Bao Ngoc excitedly as she drew. Ms. Yen gently guided each brushstroke, helping the children unleash their creativity on each page. For her, teaching drawing is not just about imparting skills, but about planting the first seeds of creativity in the hearts of young children.

Ms. Yen said that she has loved painting since she was very young. With the desire to create a playground for young people and to spread her passion for art, she opened Ms. Yen's painting class. Currently, the class has two locations in Tan Phong and Tan Mai wards, with classes held throughout the week in three sessions: morning, afternoon, and evening. During the summer months, the number of students attending painting classes is quite large, and the atmosphere in the classroom is always cheerful and colorful.

Along with the talent classes, this summer at the Dong Nai Library, the 2025 Reading Culture Ambassador Contest and the 2025 Dong Nai Province Storytelling and Drawing Contest based on books are taking place. These are two major annual competitions that attract a large number of primary, secondary, and high school students from across the province.

At the Dong Nai Children's House, dozens of extracurricular classes are organized, including: vocal music, painting, calligraphy, organ playing, aerobics, swimming, football, martial arts, etc., attracting a large number of students. Every child is enthusiastic, their faces beaming with joy as they learn their favorite subjects.

Ms. Hoang Thi Mai Anh (residing in Trung Dung ward, Bien Hoa city), while waiting for her child to finish football class, shared: “Last summer, my child just stayed at home, watching TV and using a phone all day. This year, our family enrolled him in football classes at Dong Nai Youth Center, and I've noticed he's become much more active. After each training session, he excitedly tells me all sorts of stories from the field.”

According to Truong Hai Thi, Director of the Dong Nai Youth Center, in the summer of 2025, the center will continue to offer talent classes based on students' interests in Bien Hoa City with 26 subjects, 74 classes, and over 2,000 students enrolled. Currently, outdoor talent classes such as football, swimming, basketball, martial arts, etc., are very popular with parents, who are creating opportunities for their children to participate. In particular, the center is implementing many life skills classes during the summer.

A new feature this year is that Dong Nai Youth Center is promoting digital transformation through the implementation of STEM education and activities with AI; at the same time, improving English proficiency through lessons with foreign teachers. The Youth Center also creates opportunities for children to experience and participate in the "I'm a People's Police Officer" program and other activities related to psychological counseling and legal advice…

To provide children and teenagers with a safe and enriching summer, as well as essential knowledge and skills, the Dong Nai Sports Training and Competition Center has been organizing many free talent classes such as: swimming, football, badminton, martial arts, petanque, karate, sepak takraw, boxing, etc. Information about these free classes is posted on the center's fanpage, making it easy for parents to choose and register their children. In particular, the center focuses on swimming lessons, equipping students with water safety skills – a crucial aspect every summer.

Focus on the grassroots level.

Following the diverse activities at the provincial center, summer talent classes are also spreading strongly to districts and cities throughout Dong Nai province. With the motto "bringing summer activities to the grassroots," many organizations have proactively organized training programs, performances, and talent guidance for local children.

At the Dong Nai Cultural and Film Center, staff and artists are preparing for three rounds of singing and performing arts talent classes in schools starting in July.

Due to the increasing demand for talent development programs, private centers for music, fine arts, sports, etc., in the province are quite active. Classes such as piano, organ, guitar, vocal training, and drawing are fully booked from morning to afternoon. Notably, these classes not only focus on developing artistic talent but also emphasize soft skills training, helping young people in Dong Nai become more confident when performing in front of crowds.

According to Mr. Duong Thanh Minh Phuong, an officer from the Professional Affairs Department: “To organize the training effectively, we divided the summer skills training into several sessions. The first two sessions will be for teenagers in Trang Bom district and Bien Hoa city. The remaining session will be for trainees at Drug Rehabilitation Center No. 1.”

According to Mr. Phuong, the new feature this year is that in addition to performance skills, the children will also learn about stage techniques, sound and lighting, how to choose age-appropriate music, and how to build performances based on themes… The center always strives to innovate the content and methods of summer professional training with the goal of not only teaching skills but also igniting a passion for art in students, helping them develop self-confidence, teamwork skills, and holistic development.

This year's summer atmosphere has been further "heated up" in many remote and rural areas thanks to the coordinated efforts of various units and localities. Many communes, wards, and towns have proactively connected with community cultural and sports centers, cultural houses, and clubs to organize martial arts, aerobics, life skills, and painting classes right at local cultural facilities, schools, or stadiums. This approach has helped thousands of children access beneficial summer activities without having to travel far.

In the summer of 2025, the Bac Son Commune Community Culture, Sports and Learning Center (Trang Bom District) opened numerous traditional martial arts classes, volleyball, badminton, and aerobics clubs, a community performing arts group, and a children's playground that regularly operated, attracting thousands of participants. Notably, the center regularly collaborated with the Song Xanh swimming pool to organize swimming lessons to prevent drowning among students.

Summer is not only a time for rest, but also a golden opportunity for young people in Dong Nai to learn, discover themselves through talent classes, and nurture their passions. These talent classes have been doing an excellent job in providing a meaningful and memorable summer for thousands of children.

According to Truong Hai Thi, Director of the Dong Nai Youth Center, to attract local youth to participate in summer activities, the center organizes many sports competitions and contests such as organ playing competitions and singing competitions, using both online (qualifying rounds) and in-person (final rounds) formats. Thanks to this, children from districts and cities throughout the province have the opportunity to register and showcase their talents.

"With the coordinated efforts of all levels and sectors, local authorities, the support of parents, and the positive spirit from the community, the summer of 2025 in Dong Nai is truly becoming a meaningful summer – where students can have fun, learn, and most importantly, fully experience a childhood full of color, passion, and dreams," Mr. Hai Thi emphasized.
