The torch-carrying and lighting ceremony of the Congress's flame was the most solemn moment. The sacred flame was brought back from Uncle Ho's Memorial House in Lai Cai hamlet, Phu Da village, Ha Bang commune. The torch bearer was wrestler Phung Khac Huy, who won the Southeast Asian Gold Medal in 2022. Party Secretary and Chairman of Tay Phuong Commune People's Council Nguyen Minh Hong lit the flame. The flame burned, symbolizing the strength, will, belief and aspiration for victory of Tay Phuong commune's sports .
Opening the Congress, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Van Huong commune affirmed that the Sports Congress is an opportunity to demonstrate the strength of the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho". The first Sports Congress of Tay Phuong commune symbolizes the will and aspiration to rise up of Tay Phuong homeland - a land of tradition convergence, sustainable development and is reaching out with the heroic capital Hanoi .
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the leaders of Tay Phuong commune presented souvenir flags to 23 marching groups to demonstrate their strength, to commend the sportsmanship and encourage the athletes to compete with the spirit of "Solidarity - Honesty - Nobility - Progress".
The strong oath of athlete Chu Thi Thuy and referee Ngo Dinh Long resounded, promising a season of "competing with all their might, for the flag and colors, for the honor of Tay Phuong sports community".
The atmosphere of the opening ceremony became more exciting with the opening drum performance, the Tai Chi fan performances by the elderly, demonstrating their good health and traditional health culture; the folk dance performance by the Women's Union with vibrant, modern dances, showing the image of dynamic, creative Western women; the performance of Vovinam - Viet Vo Dao, a martial art founded by the late martial artist Nguyen Loc (from Huu Bang village, Tay Phuong commune), affirming the pride of the national martial arts culture.
