According to the Tay Ninh Province Construction Investment Project Management Board, to serve the resettlement of people affected by the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway project, the locality is building 3 resettlement areas with about 800 plots of land to arrange for people.
Specifically, Rach Son resettlement area has been completed, with 169 plots to be arranged for households in Go Dau ward and Phuoc Thanh commune. Dia Xu resettlement area (Ben Cau commune) has been completed and 97 plots have been arranged, with 147 plots remaining for the project. The remaining 10.7 ha resettlement area (with 402 plots) is being accelerated to promptly arrange for households in An Tinh ward and Gia Loc ward, expected to be completed in November 2025.
In addition, the Go Dau Town Resettlement Area project (old) is also being accelerated by the units. Up to now, it has reached about 65% of the volume and is expected to be completed in 2025 to arrange for households in need.
In addition, the Tay Ninh Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board is coordinating with the Land Fund Development Center and related units to urgently pay compensation and site clearance costs to households in the project area.
According to the approved compensation and site clearance plan, the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway project through Tay Ninh province has 2,254 affected households with a recovered land area of over 246 hectares, compensation cost of over VND 3,056 billion. Up to now, units and localities have paid compensation to nearly 1,930 households with an amount of nearly VND 2,650 billion, reaching nearly 87% of the approved plan.
According to Mr. Dang Hoang Chuong, Deputy Director of Tay Ninh Department of Construction, the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway Project Phase 1 was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 760/QD-TTg dated August 2, 2024 approving the investment policy of the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway Construction Investment Project (Phase 1) under the public-private partnership method (BOT contract). The project has a cross-section of 4 complete lanes (with emergency lanes), with a total length of nearly 51 km; of which, the section through Tay Ninh province is 26.3 km long, passing through An Tinh ward, Gia Loc ward, Go Dau ward, Phuoc Thanh commune, Ben Cau commune.
The project is divided into 4 sub-projects, Tay Ninh province is the investor of sub-project 4 - compensation, support, resettlement of the section passing through the province. Currently, relevant units and localities are urgently paying compensation to people, striving to hand over the site by December 2025 to start construction.
The Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway is a "lifeline" cross-border traffic route, considered a bridge between the most vibrant economic center of the country and the potential border area, creating a lever to promote the development of border trade between Vietnam and Cambodia. After completion, this expressway will not only contribute to shortening travel time, reducing pressure on National Highway 22 but also opening up a large development space for Tay Ninh.
