It seems that in every citizen there is a feeling of connection, sharing, and a desire to review the tradition of solidarity - the source of the great strength of the Vietnamese people throughout history.
1. During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh once affirmed: “Unity is the strongest force”, “Unity is our invincible strength”, “Unity is the key to success”... Those profound comments are not only teachings, but have become truths verified in every victory of the Vietnamese revolution. They are the resources that help the nation overcome challenges, protect independence and unity, and at the same time create a foundation for the country to enter a new period of development.
Our Party always considers great national unity as a strategic policy and the source of strength for all successes. Unity creates the driving force for development, and the broader and more durable the unity, the greater and more glorious the victory.
With that spirit, throughout the country's development process, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations have always demonstrated their role as a place to gather the will, aspirations and consensus of the people. This is a vital bridge between the Party, the State and the People; a core force in arousing and promoting the strength of great national unity - the invincible source of strength for every revolution.
The strength of solidarity can be seen clearly in every period, every stage of the country's development, both in difficult times as well as in favorable times. The more challenging and arduous the situation, the more strongly the unity is affirmed. When the country is in difficulty, in war or natural disasters, epidemics, the spirit of solidarity shines brighter, everyone joins hands to help, ready to sacrifice personal interests in exchange for the common interests of the country and the people.
Not only do people in the country unite and unite to overcome difficulties, but also those who are far from home also turn to the nation, always keeping in mind the two words "compatriots".
History has proven: Without unity, there is no victory. On November 14, speaking at the National Great Unity Day 2025 in Thuong Cat ward (Hanoi), General Secretary To Lam emphasized: “Before our eyes are milestones as goals to strive for development, prosperity, prosperity, and longevity, which are the goals of 100 years of the country under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam in 2030, 100 years of the founding of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in 2045. The aspiration of "rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness, civilization" requires new internal strength, new growth model, new development drivers: Green transformation, digital transformation, science and technology, innovation, circular economy. But the foundation to go far, to success is still solidarity. Solidarity to remove institutional bottlenecks; solidarity to unlock all resources; solidarity to share risks, multiply opportunities; solidarity so that no one is left behind...”.
This message once again affirms the vital role of solidarity in the context of the country facing new opportunities and challenges. Solidarity is the pillar to realize the goal of rapid and sustainable development, helping Vietnam rise strongly in the era of digital transformation and deep global integration.
2. In the current cause of building and developing the Capital, the spirit of solidarity has special significance.
It can be seen that the achievements in the socio-economic development of the Capital are all marked by the spirit of great solidarity. Among them, there are major movements that attract the participation of the entire population such as: The movement "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", the movement "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas", the peak month "For the poor", the National Great Unity Day... have created great miracles for the Capital in particular and the whole country in general.
The most impressive thing is that Hanoi no longer has poor households according to the national multidimensional poverty standards for the period 2022 - 2025; over the years, millions of square meters of land have been donated by people to implement infrastructure projects; hundreds of thousands of working days, thousands of billions of VND in cash have been contributed by people to join hands with the State to build new rural areas... And it is a joy that in September 2025, Hanoi officially received the title of city completing the task of building new rural areas awarded by the Government...
These efforts and results have fostered trust, built new values of solidarity in the new era, aroused national pride and self-esteem, and encouraged people of all walks of life to unite and share the same aspirations to build a civilized and prosperous society.
3. For Hanoi, the achievements after 40 years of innovation, 17 years of expanding administrative boundaries, 3 years of implementing Resolution No. 15-NQ/TW dated May 5, 2022 of the Politburo on "directions and tasks for developing Hanoi Capital to 2030, with a vision to 2045", together with the Capital Law (amended) and two Capital Planning, have created an important momentum to help Hanoi make a breakthrough. However, as the national political and administrative center, the amount of work that the Capital must handle is always very large, diverse, urgent and complicated.
In that context, solidarity must become an endogenous strength to overcome difficulties, a prerequisite to realize the aspiration to develop Hanoi to its full potential.
In that spirit, the requirement for the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in the coming time is to continue to strongly innovate its working methods; improve the quality and effectiveness of its work; promote the people's mastery; strengthen the close relationship between the Party, the State and the People; contribute to building social consensus in carrying out political tasks, developing the economy and society, and building a "Cultured - Civilized - Modern" Capital.
The focus of all activities must be strongly directed towards the grassroots. Because the spirit of solidarity is not something far away but is evident in every residential area, in every family, in every small but sincere action of the people. Being close to the people, accompanying the people in all matters of life, that is the motto for the Front to better perform its role as a bridge.
In addition, the movements and campaigns launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front must be substantive, have clear results and aim at the legitimate interests of the people. All policies and strategies when being developed and implemented must put the people at the center; ensure good social security; so that every citizen understands, agrees, supports and actively participates.
And the most fundamental thing: The people must be the root. Policies must be based on the needs of the people; everything must be "known by the people, discussed by the people, inspected by the people, and enjoyed by the people". Listening to the people, giving opinions; having a sincere and substantive dialogue with the people is the shortest way to build trust, consensus and solidarity.
In particular, the annual National Great Unity Day needs to continue to be organized more practically and creatively, to become an open forum, attracting participation from all walks of life; thereby, continuing to foster the tradition of solidarity - the invaluable heritage of the nation.
But from another perspective, we must also see that to build a fair, civilized society and happy people, we cannot help but mention the efforts, endeavors and responsibilities of each individual to the community and society. Each person needs to harmonize common and individual interests, and work towards good things to join hands in building a united, understanding and sharing society...
Uncle Ho taught: “In the sky, nothing is more precious than the people. In the world, nothing is stronger than the united force of the people.” Imbued with this teaching, we have more confidence and responsibility to foster the great national unity - a sustainable foundation to ensure success for the cause of building and developing the country, developing the Capital in the new era.
