The 18th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hanoi city was a great success.

On the morning of November 18, the 18th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hanoi city, term 2025-2030, solemnly took place at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace with the participation of 345 delegates representing all walks of life in the capital.

The Congress took place in the context of the whole City competing to welcome the success of the 18th Hanoi Party Congress and towards the National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2026-2031 term.

Continue to promote the strength of national solidarity

In his opening speech, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City Bui Huyen Mai stated that this Congress has special significance, being the first Congress to implement the 2-level local government model and merge socio-political organizations under the Front. The preparation work was carried out closely and elaborately with the guidance of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; the close leadership of the City Party Committee and the coordination of the People's Council, People's Committee and member organizations.

According to Chairwoman Bui Huyen Mai, people from all walks of life, experts and intellectuals also actively contributed comments to the Political Report and documents submitted to the Congress, contributing to ensuring objectivity and comprehensiveness, accurately reflecting the thoughts, beliefs and aspirations of the people of the Capital.

With the motto of Solidarity - Democracy - Responsibility - Creativity - Development, the Congress has the task of evaluating the results of the 2024-2029 term; determining the direction, goals, and action program of the 2025-2030 term; giving comments on the Political Report of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the amended Charter; consulting on personnel of the 18th term of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City and the Delegation to attend the National Congress for the 2026-2031 term.

Reporting at the Congress, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City Pham Anh Tuan said that in the past term, the Fatherland Front system at all levels has strongly innovated its operating methods, effectively implemented 6 action programs and 3 breakthroughs. The Front strongly focuses on the grassroots, considering residential areas as the key areas for propaganda, mobilization and receiving people's opinions; at the same time, actively organizing campaigns and emulation movements for socio -economic development, building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, and sustainable poverty reduction.

In the 2025-2030 term, the City Front will focus on consolidating the great national unity bloc; strongly innovating the content and methods of operation; enhancing digital transformation; improving the effectiveness of social supervision and criticism and protecting the legitimate rights of the people. Three breakthroughs include innovating the methods of operation; improving the quality of the staff; strengthening supervision and criticism to promote democracy and social consensus.

Great solidarity is always a strategic task.

In his speech, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc emphasized President Ho Chi Minh's teachings on the strength of great solidarity and affirmed that the City Party Committee always considers this a strategic task, both a goal and a driving force for sustainable development.

In the context of many difficulties and challenges, the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front and the people of the Capital still joined hands and resolutely implemented development tasks; successfully organized the 18th Hanoi Party Congress. The Secretary of the City Party Committee assessed that the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the city is truly the "heart of the great national unity bloc", making an important contribution to the overall results of the Capital.

Regarding the future direction, Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc suggested 7 key tasks: strengthening the leadership of Party committees over the Front; focusing on the grassroots; promoting the role in the election of the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils for the 2026-2031 term; improving the effectiveness of social supervision and criticism; promoting digital transformation; implementing well the coordination regulations between the Front and Party committees and authorities in the 2-level local government model; building a team of Front officials with bright minds, open minds, good expertise, and proficient digital skills.

The Congress heard a report on the results of the consultation to elect the 18th term Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City, term 2025-2030, with 126 participants; at the same time, the consultation elected 25 official delegates and 2 alternate delegates to attend the National Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the term 2026-2031.

With the spirit of solidarity, democracy and innovation, the 18th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Hanoi ended successfully, opening up expectations for a new dynamic and creative term, meeting the development requirements of the capital in the new period.
