Previously, Ms. Le Thi Cam Tu (born in 1975, residing in Xuan Phu Ward, Song Cau Town) bought this sea turtle from a sailor. Knowing that the sea turtle was on the list of rare creatures that needed protection, she handed it over to Xuan Dai Border Guard Station. This unit notified the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Song Cau Town and the provincial Fisheries Department and together released the sea turtle into the natural environment.

In recent times, along with effectively implementing patrolling, controlling and protecting security and order in the assigned maritime border areas, Xuan Dai Border Guard Station has also done a good job of propagating and mobilizing fishermen to be aware of protecting rare aquatic products and animals, including sea turtles.
