Over the years, the work of protecting, caring for and educating children in Division 5, Military Region 7 has always received the attention of Party committees, political commissars, political officers, and commanders of agencies and units.

Every year, the goals of protecting, caring for andeducating children are included in the program and action plan with rich and diverse content and forms suitable for the psychology of children.

According to statistics from Division 5, there are 1,176 children under 16 years old who are children of officers and soldiers in the entire Division, including 1 child in special circumstances. With the attention, leadership and close direction of the Party Committee and Commander of Division 5, agencies and units have flexibly and effectively implemented the tasks of protecting, caring for and educating children. appropriate to the practical situation; regularly promote propaganda work to create clear changes in the awareness and actions of all soldiers in the unit, join hands to protect, care for and educate children comprehensive development

On the occasion of International Children's Day, June 1, Division 5 coordinated with the Provincial Youth Learning and Activities Center to organize a performance, magic show, and lion dance for the children. This was also an activity to meet and honor the children.

Pham Hoang Thien, son of Lieutenant Colonel Pham Thanh Liem - Head of the Personnel Department of Division 5, excitedly said: "We are very happy to participate in this meaningful program, having fun, eating and drinking, and receiving gifts from the uncles. We promise to try our best to study well to become useful citizens for society in the future."

Lieutenant Colonel Le Duc Nhan - Deputy Political Commissar of Division 5 said that every year, on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival, Lunar New Year, International Children's Day and Vietnamese Family Day, we always direct agencies and units to coordinate with sister units, Youth Union organizations, and local Women's Unions in the area to organize many exchange, entertainment and recreational activities for children of officers, professional soldiers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers in the entire division.

“Seeing the children happy, excited, well-behaved, good students and growing up every day makes us extremely happy. With the motto “No child left behind”, child care and support work is carried out regularly, especially care and support for children in special and difficult circumstances.

Accordingly, we are effectively implementing the "Godmother" program, providing monthly care and support to 12 orphans affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in Chau Thanh district, Tay Ninh province and Phu Giao district, Binh Duong province. The unit coordinated with kindergartens to organize the "We are soldiers" experience program, leaving many good feelings, recognized and highly appreciated by local Party committees, authorities and people" - Senior Lieutenant Colonel Le Duc Nhan shared.

Professional military major Phan Thi Kim Oanh - President of the Women's Union of Regiment 4 said: "In addition to caring for the children in the unit, every year on the occasion of performing the task of mass mobilization, the women launch the program "Collect old books, give joy" to send to children in the border communes in the area. Especially, when preparing to enter the new school year, we also proactively coordinate with benefactors to implement the program "Helping children go to school" to give books and new clothes to encourage the children".

It can be seen that the work of protecting, caring for and educating children is the responsibility of the entire political system, the community and each family. Investing in protecting and caring for children is investing in human resource development, contributing to the sustainable development of the country in the era of national development.

Every year, on the occasion of Lunar New Year, Mid-Autumn Festival, and International Children's Day, agencies and units in the entire division give gifts to children with a total amount of more than 200 million VND; support 1 disabled child with 5 million VND from the Ministry of National Defense's Children's Support Fund; monthly support and care for 12 orphans affected by the Covid-19 epidemic in the area with a total amount of more than 10 million VND.
