Use electricity economically and efficiently: Ensure stable operation of the power system

For this task, right from the beginning of the year, Binh Thuan Electricity Company established a Steering Committee for electricity saving and ensuring electricity supply in 2025 to direct and operate electricity saving as well as ensure electricity supply, especially in the dry season. At the same time, continue to develop a program to deploy electricity saving solutions according to the plan of the Provincial People's Committee in implementing the Prime Minister's Directive on enhancing electricity saving in the period of 2023 - 2025 and the following years in Binh Thuan. Including connecting and mobilizing production enterprises and service businesses to implement administrative management solutions, improve techniques, invest in electricity saving technology, and use renewable energy. In addition, coordinate with the government and organizations to effectively promote propaganda activities to raise awareness of saving and effective use among cadres, members, union members, teachers, students, etc.

Using electricity economically and efficiently also contributes to ensuring stable operation of the power system during the hot season.

According to Binh Thuan Electricity Company, the number of customers in the target groups implementing electricity saving in the province is nearly 14,000 customers, corresponding to the output that needs to be saved this year is 22.63 million kWh. Focus on promoting electricity saving in the following groups: Industrial production with 5,768 customers (saving at least 2% of total electricity consumption, equivalent to more than 12.2 million kWh), trade and services with 5,018 customers (saving at least 50% of advertising lighting compared to 2024, equivalent to more than 4.1 million kWh). In addition, electricity saving was also launched in the Public Lighting group with 2,182 customers (saving at least 30% compared to last year, equivalent to nearly 5.03 million kWh) and the Administrative and Career group with 1,030 customers (saving at least 5% compared to 2024, equivalent to more than 1.3 million kWh).

Continuing to monitor the results of electricity saving implementation according to the launch rate, the local electricity sector will coordinate to inspect and monitor the above customer groups. On the other hand, the website https://sudungdien.evn.com.vn will also be regularly exploited to monitor the electricity consumption of customers, especially the groups: Industrial production, Trade and services, Public administration, Public lighting... And every month, it will synthesize and send reports on the electricity consumption of customer groups to the Department of Industry and Trade to advise on direction and operation of electricity saving work in Binh Thuan.

This year, the local electricity sector also announced and promoted large electricity-consuming enterprises (over 1 million kWh/year) to perform their tasks according to the Prime Minister 's Directive on enhancing electricity saving. Thereby, they are ready to participate in the load shifting and load adjustment program implemented by the electricity sector in the province. It is known that Binh Thuan Electricity Company has implemented a plan to adjust electricity load (DR) for the months of 2025 in accordance with the direction of the Southern Power Corporation. At the same time, it is promoting the signing of a memorandum of agreement to participate in the non-commercial DR load adjustment program for 146/146 customers with electricity consumption of 1 million kWh/year or more.

Recently, the electricity industry has also completed signing contract appendices for 105/105 industrial production customers with electricity usage of 1 million kWh/year or more to agree to shift capacity from 5-10% of peak capacity during the time frame from 14-16 hours daily (peak hours of the Southern power grid). Accordingly, switching to other reasonable time frames and avoiding the time frames from 9:30 - 11:30, 17-22 hours daily during the hot months of 2025... The implementation results from the beginning of April 2025 show that most customers have properly fulfilled the commitment to shift capacity agreed with the electricity industry, contributing to ensuring stable operation of the power system during the dry season and current hot weather.
