Base point A6 - Hon Hai: A shining symbol of the spirit of sticking to the sea and protecting the islands

Colonel Chu Van Tan - Commander of the Provincial Border Guard Command said that the A6 base point on Hon Hai Island is one of 11 baseline connection points to determine the sea areas under national sovereignty , sovereign rights, and jurisdiction at sea according to the 2012 Vietnam Law of the Sea and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. The A6 - Hon Hai base point was built many years ago, but due to harsh weather and climate, the project has been deteriorating, significantly affecting the management and protection of sea and island sovereignty and the education of traditions for cadres and people every time they go to the island.

Comrade Nguyen Hoai Anh - Provincial Party Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council presented gifts to the forces on duty at the A6 - Hon Hai base at the inauguration ceremony.

In response to the task requirements, the Provincial Border Guard Command has proactively advised the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Border Guard Command to implement the project of renovating and upgrading the A6 base point from the socialized funding of enterprises, contributions from cadres, people, youth union members, and cadres and soldiers of the Provincial Border Guard. From February to April 2025, the transportation of materials and construction have been carried out. With a spirit of urgency and high responsibility, the renovation project has been completed with many items, mainly reinforcing the foundation, building the column body with high-strength materials, anti-corrosion of seawater, heat resistance with a solid, durable structure, ensuring aesthetics. On the A6 base point project, there are embossed letters and clear numbers.

Base point A6 has a very important legal significance, affirming the sovereignty and sacred national sovereignty of the Fatherland over the sea and islands in the southeast of the province. At the same time, it plays an important role in national defense, in managing and protecting the sea and island borders, serving well the patrol, control and protection of our sovereignty in the new situation. The completed renovation project also has great significance ineducating the tradition of patriotism and national pride for officers, soldiers of the armed forces and people, especially the young generation of the province. On the other hand, it contributes to building the image of the Vietnam Border Guard, the soldiers "guarding the sea and sky of the Fatherland" always steadfast at the forefront of the wind and waves.

Recently, at the inauguration ceremony of this project, Comrade Nguyen Hoai Anh - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council affirmed: Base point A6 - Hon Hai is not only a landmark affirming the sacred national sovereignty at sea, but also a shining symbol of the spirit and will to stick to the sea, protect the islands, and protect the Fatherland in peacetime of the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people. To continue to protect the sovereignty, sovereign rights over the sea and islands and ensure security and order in the coastal border area of ​​the province in the new situation, the Provincial Party Committee Secretary requested the Provincial Party Committee and Border Guard Command to comprehensively and synchronously deploy border work, correctly assess the situation of the sea route to advise and propose measures to fight and firmly protect the sovereignty, sovereign rights over the sea and islands in all situations.

At the same time, do a good job of military rear work, propaganda and education work, raise patriotism and awareness of protecting sea and island sovereignty for the people.
