ACV representative reported on investment preparation and implementation plan. Accordingly, the project will include repairing the existing runway, taxiway system, drainage system, technical infrastructure - equipment to ensure flight operations and building foundations for specialized equipment.

During the construction period, Lien Khuong Airport was forced to temporarily close. ACV committed to making efforts to shorten the closure period to limit the impact on aviation activities and people's travel needs. The estimated repair period will last about 6 months, starting from March 4, 2025 and expected to be completed before August 31, 2026. This time coincides with the dry season, so construction conditions are considered favorable.

Deputy Director of the Department of Construction Truong Trung Thang commented on some issues related to construction.

The runway of Lien Khuong airport is currently degraded and needs to be renovated soon to ensure flight safety and long-term service. Once the repair is completed, the airport's operating capacity will be enhanced to meet the increasing transportation demand.

In parallel with this project, ACV plans to invest about 3.7 trillion VND to build a new passenger terminal and other synchronous projects, aiming to increase the service capacity to more than 5 million passengers/year after 2030. This is a strategic investment step to meet the growth of the aviation industry and the development needs of the province.
