ACV representative reported on investment preparation and implementation plan. Accordingly, the project will include repairing the existing runway, taxiway system, drainage system, technical infrastructure - equipment to ensure flight operations and building foundations for specialized equipment.
During the construction period, Lien Khuong Airport was forced to temporarily close. ACV committed to making efforts to shorten the closure period to limit the impact on aviation activities and people's travel needs. The estimated repair period will last about 6 months, starting from March 4, 2025 and expected to be completed before August 31, 2026. This time coincides with the dry season, so construction conditions are considered favorable.

ACV requested the province to support ensuring security and order at the terminal area during the time the airport is closed.
The runway and taxiway repair project is part of the adjusted planning of Lien Khuong Airport for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

The runway of Lien Khuong airport is currently degraded and needs to be renovated soon to ensure flight safety and long-term service. Once the repair is completed, the airport's operating capacity will be enhanced to meet the increasing transportation demand.
In parallel with this project, ACV plans to invest about 3.7 trillion VND to build a new passenger terminal and other synchronous projects, aiming to increase the service capacity to more than 5 million passengers/year after 2030. This is a strategic investment step to meet the growth of the aviation industry and the development needs of the province.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai acknowledged ACV's efforts in preparing and implementing the project in accordance with the direction of the Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee at previous working sessions.
He requested ACV to focus resources and strive to complete the project before August 25, 2026, in order to put the airport into service for people and tourists from September 1, 2026, on the occasion of National Day September 2.

In addition, ACV is required to carefully review and soon issue a unified document on the airport closing and opening times to help the province proactively develop plans for important activities.
Provincial leaders requested departments, branches and localities to strengthen coordination, remove obstacles and provide maximum support so that the project can be implemented quickly and effectively.
