Since the "Rural Market Festival" was first organized, almost every year, the family of Mr. Le Quang Phong on Le Ngo Cat Street, Thuy Xuan Ward (Thuan Hoa District) has made time to participate in the festival to experience the fun and familiar cultural activities. "All the activities at the 'Rural Market Festival' are meaningful, attractive, and draw visitors. My family doesn't want to miss any of the activities during the festival," Mr. Phong enthusiastically said.

Mr. Dang Van Hiep, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuy Thanh commune, said: "The 'Rural Market Festival' has been established for many years based on restoring and developing the unique potential and advantages of the locality, such as Thanh Toan tiled bridge, historical and cultural relics, and natural landscapes. Through many editions, the 'Rural Market Festival' has gradually become more complete and professional, offering tourists and locals many interesting and memorable experiences of a purely agricultural, picturesque riverside countryside."

"Rural Market Festival" is an opportunity for tourists to participate in buying and selling agricultural products, typical rural industrial products, and other goods. Visitors can also explore the rural landscape and national historical sites. At the rural market, tourists and locals can experience simple, rustic dishes, immerse themselves in reenactments of rural life and agricultural production, and enjoy poetry, songs, folk rhymes, and traditional games performed by local people.

The event also featured photo exhibitions such as "The Beauty of the Countryside Market," "Thanh Toan Tiled Bridge," images of President Ho Chi Minh, and a ceremony honoring the spirit of Tran Thi Dao. Many other activities took place, including a "Golden Bell" quiz competition for elementary school students, a folk singing exchange between schools, a lantern festival, cooking competitions, flower arranging, painting, conical hat making, and a celebration of the traditional Ao Dai dress. The festival also included traditional folk games and other activities such as blindfolded pot smashing, crossing a monkey bridge, sack racing, flag capturing, ball dribbling, rope swinging across the river, catching ducks in the river, blindfolded chicken catching on land, and ring tossing around duck necks.

Creating a source of income for the people.

According to Cai Thi Duyen, Head of the Culture and Information Department of Huong Thuy town, the unit is coordinating with local authorities to develop a plan for organizing the "Rural Market Festival" in 2025, expected to take place in early June. This year's festival activities will be basically the same as in previous years, but there will be improvements in form, costumes, and content quality, creating attractive highlights to draw tourists to visit and enjoy.

Local authorities guide residents on how to organize food services, souvenir sales, accommodation services, etc., more professionally, ensuring hygiene, safety, and reasonable prices. A new feature in recent years and this year is that Huong Thuy town continues to organize trade fairs, exhibitions of typical rural industrial products, agricultural products, traditional crafts, and OCOP products, as well as job fairs and vocational training enrollment. This is an opportunity not only to serve tourists and generate income during the festival days, but also to introduce and promote the brands and traditional products of Thuy Thanh and Huong Thuy in general.

It is expected that dozens of businesses and production facilities will participate in this year's "Rural Market Festival" with 15 characteristic agricultural and handicraft products; including many OCOP products certified with 3-4 stars by Huong Thuy town. Besides check-in points such as Thanh Toan tiled bridge and lotus lake in Tuong Le area, Huong Toan restaurant , Van The Garden, this year's "Rural Market Festival" will organize tours for visitors to explore historical sites such as: Van The village communal house, Ton That Thuyet ancestral shrine, Thanh Thuy Chanh village communal house, secret tunnels, etc.

The "Rural Market Festival" promises to continue with several new features, such as: performances of Bài Chòi folk singing for students, job fairs, vocational training counseling, and sending workers abroad under contract… These activities contribute to preserving and promoting Bài Chòi art in Huong Thuy town in particular and Hue city in general, and create jobs and increase income for workers.

At this year's "Rural Market Festival," the People's Committee of Huong Thuy town plans to continue inviting units and businesses to participate in the job fair, seeking domestic and international employment opportunities under contract and vocational training for workers in fields such as nursing, caregiving, market development, garment making, sales, construction, etc. Besides introducing attractive job opportunities and preferential policies, participating units will conduct direct recruitment interviews, provide career guidance, and offer opportunities for studying abroad and overseas employment to candidates.
