Sun Group proposes funding for planning to expand Con Dao airport

Sun Group Corporation has just sent a document to the Ministry of Construction proposing to be funded to develop a plan to expand Con Dao Airport in the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

Currently, traffic to Con Dao is limited. The airport only accepts small planes and cannot operate night flights due to the short runway and degraded infrastructure.

According toSun Group , currently, transportation to Con Dao is still limited. Con Dao Airport only accepts small aircraft and is not capable of operating night flights due to its short runway and degraded infrastructure. Therefore, Sun Group proposed to study upgrading the airport to level 4E, extending the runway, increasing the capacity to 2 million passengers/year by 2030, meeting the conditions to receive large aircraft such as A350, Boeing 787, helping to expand international connections.

The Group commits to sponsor all planning costs in accordance with the law, voluntarily and unconditionally, ensuring transparency and not affecting community interests.
