The units have determined the initial cause: The deep hole appeared on Truong Chinh Street towards Nga Tu So due to a clean water pipe with a diameter of D100 leaking underground. This phenomenon caused strong water jets to spray out of the pipe, causing underground erosion and subsidence of the road surface, forming a deep hole on the road.
Authorities, including the water supply company, have mobilized manpower and machinery to handle the incident, fill in the soil, and re-compact the collapsed road surface. By this morning, traffic in the incident area was restored for people to travel.

Mr. Tran Huu Bao, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Construction, said: Letting underground construction damage incidents affect people's lives is something no one wants, especially the management agency.
From the reality of some recent incidents, Mr. Bao said that investors and infrastructure management units need to strengthen supervision and quality management, proactively anticipate risks, and minimize incidents that may affect people.
