Taking advantage of State support capital, Ta Khoa commune is implementing Project 3 on sustainable agricultural and forestry production development, under the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, to promote local strengths, towards commodity production according to value chains, helping people change their farming mindset.

From the support capital, many households have boldly invested in expanding production, raising livestock, planting fruit trees and developing businesses, creating jobs right in the locality. Up to now, the whole commune has many effective economic models such as: Growing fruit trees in Muong Khoa village; raising breeding cows in Hua Nhan village; raising fish in cages in Ta Do village; raising native pigs combined with growing grass for livestock in Na O village... these models have brought stable income to households from 150-200 million VND/year.

In order to motivate people to develop production, the commune also directs the youth union organizations to perform well the management and entrustment of preferential credit sources, especially policy credit sources. Currently, the total outstanding debt of the commune's banks is nearly 95 billion VND, more than 1,400 households have been able to borrow capital with an average loan of 60 million VND/household. Of which, more than 700 poor and near-poor households have been able to borrow capital with a total outstanding debt of over 30 billion VND.

Farmers in Ta Do and Ta Khoa villages develop a model of raising native pig breeds.

Dinh Van Khanh's family in Ta Do village is a successful household in developing a comprehensive economic model of growing and raising livestock, which not only helps the family escape poverty but also has a good income. Mr. Khanh shared: With the encouragement and guidance on livestock and crop care techniques from the commune officials, I boldly invested in raising more than 30 native black pigs per litter, more than 300 free-range chickens and ducks; maintaining the cultivation of 3 hectares of corn and cassava for both commodities and proactive animal feed. From growing crops and raising livestock, my family earns over 300 million VND each year. I have just planted 1 hectare of Arabica coffee, now the coffee garden is growing well, promising to be a crop that will bring a good source of income for the family in the near future.

The companionship of local Party committees and authorities, practical support in terms of capital and technology, creates great motivation for the people of Ta Khoa commune to strive to rise up, change production thinking, develop economic models in an effective direction, continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, and determination to bring Ta Khoa commune out of poverty sustainably in the next 5 years.
