Opening of the 2025 National Expanded Music Festival
On the evening of October 30, at the Southern Military Theater (HCMC), the opening ceremony of the 2025 National Expanded Music Festival took place. Attending the opening ceremony were Major General, musician Nguyen Duc Trinh - Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians' Association; Mr. Tran Huong Duong - Deputy Director of the Department of Performing Arts (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism); People's Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City; Lieutenant General Tran Hoai Trung - Political Commissar of Military Region 7; People's Artist Pham Ngoc Khoi - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians' Association; Colonel, musician Ho Trong Tuan - Principal of the Military University of Culture and Arts...
The 2025 National Expanded Music Festival with the theme "Music Convergence and Spread", taking place from October 29 to November 2, is organized by the Vietnam Musicians Association in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Information; Ho Chi Minh City Radio and Television Station; Ho Chi Minh City Music Association to celebrate the Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party, celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China (1950 - 2025), and launch the "Vietnam - China Humanitarian Exchange Year" to strengthen cooperation in the field of music between the two countries.

Major General - Musician Nguyen Duc Trinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians Association, said the festival is a meeting, exchange of composing experiences, and musical exchange between musicians of the Vietnam Musicians Association and talented solo artists, golden voices of Vietnam; thereby introducing new musical works, young faces, and good voices. "That is the decisive factor for professional activities today and in the future, contributing to the revival and successful construction of an advanced Vietnamese culture and music, imbued with national identity," he said.
Musician Nguyen Duc Trinh also announced the festival's art council, including: People's Artist, musician Nguyen Quang Vinh (Chairman of the Council); musician Tran Nhat Duong; People's Artist Ta Minh Tam; musician Giang Son and musician Hoai An.

The 2025 National Expanded Music Festival includes two areas: Music Works Festival, Vietnamese Voice Festival and Instrumental Solo Performance (Performance Festival). The works and performances participating in the festival focus on reflecting the themes of the Party, Uncle Ho, the current national construction and defense, love for the homeland, the country, traditional Vietnamese culture and in the era of national development; culture and international friendship.
Works participating in the festival are new works composed in 2024 and 2025 by members of the Vietnam Musicians' Association of branches and musician groups nationwide that have not participated in any competitions of central organizations, departments and branches; genre: song or ensemble, instrumental solo (duration not exceeding 7 minutes/work).

For the festival of performances by singers and artists: the genre of the performance participating in the festival is a song or instrumental solo; the work performed in the festival is a Vietnamese work chosen by the singer or artist with high technical content; the participating artist is a member or non-member of the Vietnam Musicians Association and is selected by the association branch to introduce participation.
There are over 600 musicians and artists attending the festival from branches in provinces and cities across the country, with more than 185 performances in 7 competition programs. Notably, the Vietnam Musicians Association cooperated with the Guangxi Academy of Arts (China) to compose, arrange and perform the Vietnam - China Symphony Music Program at the closing ceremony of the festival on the evening of November 2 at the Ho Chi Minh City Theater.
