The “Major Case” part – the final part of the first season of “Brave Soldiers” received much attention from a large audience nationwide when it was inspired by special, unprecedented special cases, mobilizing the coordination of many forces to destroy drug lines and armed groups that illegally bought, sold, and transported large quantities of drugs from the Vietnam - Laos border into the interior.
Episode 14 “The Battle of Dragon Hill” opens with the memoirs of Colonel Tran Thanh Son, Deputy Director, Head of the Investigation Police Department, Son La Provincial Police. At the time of implementing the project to combat and eradicate drug trafficking and illegal transportation crimes in Long Luong, Son La, Colonel Tran Thanh Son was the Chief of Staff, Son La Provincial Police.

In episode 14, Colonel Tran Thanh Son choked up as he recounted the quiet but extremely delicate actions of his teammate who always fought alongside him in the project - Lieutenant General Mai Hoang (Lieutenant General Mai Hoang is currently the Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police; at the time of the project, he was the Chief of Moc Chau District Police, Son La Provincial Police).
“Going to fight a big case, comrade Mai Hoang quietly left his backpack, armor, and bulletproof helmet in the attic… not because he forgot, but to reassure his mother,” Colonel Tran Thanh Son said.
Many other special stories were also conveyed in the program, such as the foster sister who stayed up all night waiting for news of her "non-blood-related younger brother", preparing hot meals for the officers and soldiers; the landlady who opened the door to welcome the officers and soldiers before dawn, whispering, "Are all of you back, uncle?"... The image of the mother waiting for news of her son, the sister worrying to the point of losing sleep, made the soldiers feel more deeply than ever about the love, sacrifice and quiet rear of Vietnamese women.

Colonel Tran Thanh Son shared many touching stories in the program "Brave Soldier".
Colonel Tran Thanh Son's memories of the Long Luong case touched the hearts of millions of viewers. The story of the sacrifice of Senior Lieutenant Luong Phat Chiem - a young soldier who remained forever in the mountains and forests of the Northwest, leaving behind an old mother, a young wife and a young child, with the quiet notes of the program, helped the audience feel the loss of the soldier's family, while also praising the brave spirit and silent sacrifice of the People's Public Security soldier - daring to face death in exchange for peace for the people, so that the oath "forgetting oneself for the country, serving the people" is not just a slogan, but a way of life.
“When my colleagues fell, we were the ones who were consulted and raised our hands to vote unanimously on the assigned positions for our colleagues. Unexpected errors occurred… everyone probably thought it was our fault. Only then did we understand that fighting in this war against drugs was difficult and paid for with blood and bones. But it is also a good thing that behind that great loss also left behind more determination and willpower within the organization,” Colonel Tran Thanh Son said with a choked voice.

The story ends with the chief's tears in the pouring rain on a day in April 2015, when he quietly turned his back to wipe his tears, then pulled out his "industry card" from his wallet - "an inseparable item" of every officer and soldier of the People's Public Security, an act of faith as a profound message: "If you succeed, the chief will succeed, and if you fail, the chief will also make mistakes..., our superiors are also ready for us, to live together, work together and die together"...
After episode 14 aired, on social platforms and YouTube, thousands of comments and shares from viewers expressed admiration for the silent dedication and sacrifices of the police officer:
“A son carries a heavy responsibility on his shoulders, leaving in the midst of danger but still afraid that his mother will worry. A mother lives quietly with the wait, just hoping that her son will return safely. There are feelings that don’t need much explanation - just a backpack, a suit of armor left in the attic, is enough to make the viewer’s heart ache.”
“Listening to Colonel Tran Thanh Son share, I was moved. I admire the endurance, perseverance and bravery of the anti-drug police officers. Thank you to the officers who sacrificed their time, health and lives to protect the peace of the people”…
“Crying my eyes out over the stories of silent sacrifices, proud of the police officers!”; “True to the spirit of soldiers, true to the spirit of Vietnam - heroic but full of tears”; “After listening, I just want to send my thanks to the soldiers in green, for today’s peace”…
