According to origin, the mainland of Da Nang includes 3 types of soil: Mountainous and hilly soil; Plain soil; Coastal sand dune soil group. The city's mineral resources include marble in Non Nuoc - Ngu Hanh Son, quartz sand in Hoa Khanh, glass sand in Nam O, peat in Bau Tram, Bau Sau, Hoa Tien, and construction materials in Hoa My and Hoa Tien.

- Mountainous and hilly land: has a total area of 71,190.0 ha, accounting for 72.65% of the land area of the mainland, including the following soil groups: Red-yellow soil (69,167.00 ha), red-yellow humus soil (256.0 ha), sloping soil (1,767.0 ha); these soil groups originate mainly from metamorphic rocks developed on parent rocks such as magma, graphite...;

- The total area of the delta land is 17,352.0 ha, accounting for 17.71% of the land area of the mainland, including the following soil groups: Non-saline alluvial soil group (15,542 ha), saline soil group (1,149 ha), saline acid sulfate soil group (616 ha);

- The coastal sand dune group has a total area of 9,446 hectares, accounting for 9.64% of the mainland land area.

- Metal minerals: scattered in high mountainous areas including ore deposits: Copper (Cu) in Hoa Ninh; wolfram (W), tin (Sn) in An Loi, Dong Nghe, gold (Au): The Hang Doi original gold spot is poor, low in content and small in scale. The Khe Duong original gold spot is distributed in the upper stream of Khe Duong, in Hoa Bac commune, currently the City People's Committee has granted an exploitation license to Danang Golden Lotus One Member Co., Ltd. Ta Lang alluvial gold spot: gold is distributed in the I stream of the Bac River, the distribution area is not large, the content is not uniform, and the reserves are small.

- Non-metallic minerals: include: kaolin clay, Hoa Bac pyrite... on a small scale. Common construction materials include: Hai Van, Cam Khe - Phuoc Tuong, Hoa Khuong, Ba Na granite. Phuoc Thuan horn schist (Hoa Nhon), Hoa Son; Pho Nam schist aggregate (Hoa Bac). Brick and tile clay distributed in Nam Thanh (Hoa Phong commune). Filling materials: Mainly hill soil weathered from schist distributed in communes in Hoa Vang district.
