On the weekend, the male motorbike taxi driver had a few beers with his friends and then drove home. He did not expect that this fun would make him unemployed for a week because of violating alcohol concentration and having his motorbike impounded by the traffic police.
On the evening of November 10, the Traffic Police - Order Team of District 1 Police, Ho Chi Minh City Police organized patrols, control, and handled alcohol concentration violations in the area under their responsibility.
Mr. PQH has an alcohol concentration of 0.198 mg/liter of breath.
At around 10pm, the soldiers discovered Mr. PQH (born in 1979) acting suspiciously. However, when he saw the traffic police, Mr. H drove his car onto the sidewalk and pulled into a coffee shop on Hoang Sa Street, near Tran Khanh Du Bridge, Tan Dinh Ward.
However, the male driver was still approached by the working group, tested for alcohol concentration and found to be at 0.198 mg/liter of breath. The working group drew up a record to fine him 2.5 million VND, revoke his driver's license for 11 months, and impound his vehicle for 7 days.
Mr. H explained that he did not avoid the traffic police, but went to the shop to drink water to sober up and then went home. This man also affirmed that he knew the law, but because he had not drunk much, he did not think he would be fined.
Mr. NMM was unemployed for a week because the traffic police temporarily detained his vehicle.
At around 10:20 p.m., Mr. NMM (born in 1978) was also tested for alcohol concentration on Hoang Sa Street by the working group. Mr. M had an alcohol concentration of 0.524 mg/liter of breath, was fined 7 million VND, and had his vehicle impounded for 7 days.
Mr. M said he can drink more than 10 cans of beer, but tonight he only drank 4 cans. After the party, he was still sober enough to drive to buy noodles for his daughter.
"I work as a motorbike taxi driver, so I rarely drink. Today is the weekend, I'm not driving so I had a few drinks. I didn't expect this party to make me unemployed next week because the traffic police temporarily impounded my motorbike," said Mr. M.
Male student was fined and had his driver's license revoked for 17 months for violating alcohol concentration.
Also that night, the task force discovered that male student LQB (born 2003, from Binh Dinh) had an alcohol concentration of 0.269 mg/liter of breath. The task force fined Mr. B 4.5 million VND and had his driver's license revoked for 17 months.
In addition to the above cases, a number of other drivers who violated alcohol concentration were also recorded by the Traffic Police - Order Team of District 11 Police and had their vehicles temporarily impounded.
The leader of the Traffic Police - Order Team of District 1 Police said that after a long time of implementing alcohol concentration testing, the majority of people have complied with the regulations. People proactively take technology cars and do not drive after having alcohol concentration.
Thanks to that, every night when the traffic police check alcohol levels, there are very few violations.
