On the afternoon of August 30, the leader of the Department of Internal Affairs of Vinh Thuan district, Kien Giang province, said that the unit had announced the decision to temporarily suspend the principal of Thi Tran Secondary School for "arbitrarily" transferring facilities from the old school to the new school.

Previously, on August 27, the Standing Committee of Vinh Thuan District Party Committee met to consider transferring Thi Tran Secondary School in Vinh Dong 1 Quarter, Vinh Thuan Town (abbreviated as the old school) to Vinh Thuan Town Primary & Secondary School in Vinh Phuoc 2 Quarter, Vinh Thuan Town (new school).

The Standing Committee of the District Party Committee unanimously assigned the District People's Committee to temporarily suspend Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong - Principal of Thi Tran Secondary School, for arbitrarily moving the facilities of the old school to the new school without the opinion of the District People's Committee, causing negative public opinion among the people.

At the same time, urgently direct the inspection of the responsibility of principal Nguyen Thanh Phong and have specific conclusions. If there are any violations, handle them according to current regulations.

"On the afternoon of August 30, I went to Thi Tran Secondary School to announce the decision to temporarily suspend Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong from work for 15 days according to the Law on Cadres, Civil Servants and Public Employees. During this time, the vice principal of Thi Tran Secondary School was assigned to be in charge of and manage the school's activities," said the leader of the Department of Internal Affairs of Vinh Thuan district.

As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong - principal of Thi Tran Secondary School - arbitrarily transferred some teaching equipment from the old school to the new school, even though he had not received official instructions from theeducation sector and the district People's Committee.

Later, at a press conference to provide information, Mr. Huynh Ngoc Nguyen - Vice Chairman of Vinh Thuan District People's Committee - said that the district has a policy to transfer facilities from the old school to the new school but there is no official document yet. The district will take strict action if any violations are found in this story.

According to Mr. Nguyen, in this story, the District Department of Education and Training was slow in implementing the process of merging schools and transferring facilities, leading to the principal acting arbitrarily.
