(DN) - According to information from Sonadezi Service Joint Stock Company, from today, November 16, Quang Trung Waste Treatment Area (Gia Kiem Commune) temporarily stops receiving domestic waste from 10 wards and communes in the province. List of 10 wards and communes including: Tran Bien, Long Hung, Tam Phuoc, Long Thanh, An Phuoc, Phuoc Thai, Cam My, Xuan Dong, Xuan Duong, Thong Nhat.

According to the enterprise, although the provincial People's Committee has repeatedly reminded localities and issued a document requesting localities to complete payment of household waste treatment costs before October 30, 2025, by November 15, only 16 wards and communes had made payments, with an amount of more than 15/80 billion VND as prescribed. Thus, there are still more than 65 billion VND in unpaid debt according to the direction of the provincial People's Committee, in which the 10 wards and communes mentioned above have not made advances or paid for waste treatment costs since July 1.

In addition, the company said that it has not yet received nearly VND 170 million in waste treatment costs in 2024 from Long Thanh district (old); and has not yet received nearly VND 15 billion in waste treatment costs arising from June 11 to June 30, 2025 in districts and cities before the merger.

Prolonged late payments make it difficult for businesses to operate and maintain household waste treatment.

Sonadezi Service Joint Stock Company proposed that the Provincial People's Committee continue to direct departments and branches to guide localities to complete the payment of outstanding amounts from the end of 2024 to June 30, 2025; at the same time, promptly advance or pay for waste treatment costs from July 1, 2025 to present to ensure that waste collection and treatment activities are not interrupted.
