On the morning of May 9, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center announced the temporary suspension of the simulated fireworks display at the Ky Dai - Ngo Mon Square area.
The center is preparing to rebuild the content script, research technical equipment and other factors, to ensure the best conditions for simulating the fireworks display at the Flag Tower every Saturday evening.

"When the preparations are completed, the Center will specifically notify the people and visitors of the resumption time. We always appreciate all valuable comments and support from people and visitors near and far," said the announcement of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center.
Previously, as Dan Tri reported, during the cannon fire program at Hue's Ky Dai on the evening of May 3, some cannonballs flew over the Ho Thanh moat and fell into an area with many spectators at Phu Van Lau campus.
When they hit the ground, the fireworks were still glowing red, causing the audience, including children, to run away. Luckily, no one was injured.
A representative of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center said that due to some unexpected technical problems such as the installation of equipment and fireworks a day in advance, the fireworks became damp, did not burn completely when fired, and fell to the ground.
After the incident, the Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Library (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) sent a document to Hue city, requesting verification of related information; at the same time, checking whether the event complied with Government regulations on organizing fireworks displays.
In case of detecting violations of the law, the Department requests the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City to proactively handle them according to its authority.
On May 8, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, chaired a working session with the Hue Monuments Conservation Center and related units on organizing a cannon fire program at Ky Dai.
The content of the meeting has not yet been made public by the city government.
