With stroke, time is money and knowledge is the key to not losing that precious time. Stroke not only takes lives but also leaves immeasurable burdens - for the patient, for the family and for society.
According to Dr. Tran Chi Cuong, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Neurointerventional Association, Professional Director of SIS Can Tho International General Hospital, every year there are about 15 million stroke patients in the world , every 45 seconds there is 1 new case and every 3 minutes there is 1 stroke patient death. In Vietnam, there are about 200,000 stroke cases every year.
In fact, the number of strokes in children is increasing, largely due to lack of knowledge and lack of concern for health issues. Therefore, raising awareness, educating and disseminating knowledge about stroke in the community is extremely urgent, not only helping to protect personal health but also contributing to reducing the burden on families and society.
Based on this reality, Dr. Tran Chi Cuong and specialists at SIS Can Tho International General Hospital have created the book " Health Handbook for Stroke Prevention ". The book helps readers have an overview of stroke and early signs of the disease, how to treat and care for patients after a stroke, as well as how to prevent risk factors.

With just one small book, you can learn how to recognize your body's warning signs early, how to change your lifestyle to reduce your risk, and more importantly, how to protect your loved ones from this dangerous disease.
Ms. Ngo Thi Thuy An, a customer who came to check her health at the hospital, was quite surprised when the hospital staff gave her a book and shared: "Seeing that the number of people suffering from stroke is getting younger and younger, I am also very worried, but I have not had the opportunity to learn more about the signs of stroke. Seeing that the hospital gave me a book, I also received a copy to learn and equip myself with knowledge to feel more secure."
A small book cannot replace a doctor, but the knowledge that the team of doctors at SIS Can Tho International General Hospital has provided in this handbook will help us have more useful, authentic information, and above all, it can help us, those who think we are healthy, to suddenly look back at the lifestyle that is silently destroying our bodies every day. Books do not save people with surgery, but with awareness. And sometimes, awareness is the medicine that comes at the right time.
