Strengthening market supervision, inspection and control in Ca Mau province

In recent times, the authorities have continuously inspected and discovered a number of enterprises, organizations and individuals producing, advertising and distributing many types of fake milk, fake medicine and fake health protection foods in localities. In order to enhance the responsibility of specialized agencies in managing, supervising, promptly detecting, preventing and handling activities of manufacturing and trading counterfeit goods, especially milk products, medicines and health protection foods, recently, the Minister of Industry and Trade - Deputy Head of the National Steering Committee 389 has issued Official Dispatch No. 2755/CD-BCT to the People's Committees of provinces and cities; the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development and the Department of Industry and Trade of provinces and cities on strengthening the work of monitoring, inspecting and controlling the market, especially for milk products, medicines and health protection foods.

To ensure stable production and business activities, contribute to stabilizing the market, prevent violations of quality, measurement, food safety, promptly detect, prevent and handle counterfeit production and trading activities in the province, the Department of Industry and Trade issued Official Dispatch No. 668/SCT-QLTM dated April 21, 2025 requesting the People's Committees of districts, Ca Mau city and the Market Management Department of Ca Mau province to implement a number of tasks as follows:

1. People's Committees of districts and Ca Mau city: Direct local agencies and units to inform, propagate and mobilize organizations and individuals engaged in production and business activities in the area to strictly implement the provisions of the law; monitor and supervise food production and business activities; coordinate with local market management forces to inspect and control the market; and at the same time, publicly announce violations and results of handling violations on mass media.

2. Market Management Department of Ca Mau province:

- Strengthen local management, regularly monitor and supervise the market to promptly detect unusual developments of goods circulating on the market, especially dairy products, medicines, health protection foods, especially at small retail channels, unofficial agents, e-commerce platforms and social networks, where there are many potential risks of counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin, and poor quality goods.

- Actively coordinate with competent authorities to comprehensively review and inspect establishments producing and trading in dairy products, medicines, and health protection foods.

- Strictly handle violations according to the provisions of law on trading in smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, food safety...

3. Inspectorate of the Department, departments and units under the Department: Regularly review and seriously implement the directive documents of the Ministry of Industry and Trade , central ministries, provincial Party Committee, and provincial People's Committee to perform assigned and assigned tasks.
