Strengthening linkage and cooperation in tourism development in northern provinces and cities

On January 12, the Northern Provinces and Cities Tourism Association Cluster coordinated with the Bac Giang Provincial Tourism Association to organize a conference to summarize activities in 2023 and deploy tasks in 2024 for the Tourism Development Cooperation and Linkage Program.

At the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Manh Than, Head of the Northern Provinces and Cities Tourism Association Cluster, Chairman of the Hanoi City Tourism Association said that in recent times, the Northern Provinces and Cities Tourism Association Cluster has maintained cooperation activities with provinces, attracting investment, training human resources, regularly exchanging information, market trends, products to share experiences, and increase business efficiency.

The Northern Cluster of Provinces and Cities Associations identifies the promotion, advertising, association and cooperation within the Cluster and with provinces and cities nationwide as important tasks, especially the socialization of promotion and advertising, which plays a key role. The associations proactively develop a four-year promotion and advertising plan, mobilizing members to participate according to the motto of the State and enterprises working together. Coordinate in developing bilateral cooperation plans and cooperation plans in local clusters. The cooperation programs organized by many localities all have the participation and response of a large number of tourism enterprises in the area, creating great effects and efficiency in the promotion and introduction of local destinations, improving the capacity to welcome guests, promoting brands and products of travel agencies, hotels, transportation, destinations, restaurants, etc.

In 2023, the associations will actively participate in fairs, exhibitions, tourism festivals, etc., thereby contributing to bringing the image, cultural values, and tourism resources of localities to travel agencies, travel companies, and domestic and foreign tourists, and creating opportunities for tourism businesses to exchange, learn, share experiences, and seek business cooperation opportunities. In 2023, the associations will also participate in domestic and international seminars, conferences, and tourism events organized by the Central Government, the Department of Tourism, the Vietnam Tourism Association, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Tourism, and the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of localities such as: Attending the 2023 National Online Conference on Tourism "Promoting Recovery - Accelerating Development" chaired by the Prime Minister; Conference on linking and signing cooperation agreements to develop tourism association clusters of 6 provinces: Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang, Lang Son, Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Ha Giang; Conference on developing tourism products of Tuyen Quang province in 2023; Conference on promoting destinations to connect and develop tourism products of Bac Giang with other provinces and cities in 2023; Conference on promoting tourism promotion of Three localities - One destination, many experiences in Hanoi...

Mr. Nguyen Manh Than said that the promotion activities, research cooperation, product development, and service quality improvement organized by members have brought about effectiveness. Many member associations have cooperated to create new, high-quality tourism product chains to meet the needs of the tourism market.

In 2024, the Northern Cluster of Tourism Associations proposed a direction to focus on organizational work, organizational structure, and continue to improve affiliated units. Representatives of the Provincial Tourism Associations said that it is necessary to further promote the role of the Tourism Association as a real support for businesses, acting as a bridge between businesses and management agencies to protect the legitimate rights and interests of members. Mobilize the participation of member associations and members to connect destinations and tourism services into tours and tourist routes to promote and attract tourists in order to effectively implement signed cooperation and tourism development agreements.

At the conference, the associations proposed to the Department of Tourism and the Vietnam Tourism Association to study and issue policies to support localities and businesses, attract investment, and promote tourism growth according to Resolution No. 82 of the Prime Minister. Develop programs to promote market expansion, develop new products to attract international tourists, and focus on developing domestic tourism. Pay more attention and support to the promotion and training of human resources for local tourism associations, organize famtrip groups to survey tourist routes, to introduce, promote and attract tourists.../.
